Hi crew-

First time contemplating a non-DME resort and need to figure out how best to get from the airport to the Swan/Dolphin. As best I can figure, the options are Mears Shuttle, limo/town car, or Taxi. There will be two adults, probably one bag a piece.

Any suggestions on the easiest or most cost effective way to get on property?

Mears shuttle would be the less expensive way to go, but keep in mind that there will be stops at other off site hotels along the way. A town car will cost about $60 round trip (Tiffany towncar rates).
You could also rent a car at MCO and return it to the Dolphin, Alamo has offices at both locations. For the return trip rent from the Dolphin back to MCO.

$60 one way or $109 round trip.

Took the words right outa my mouth.
So, it all depends on your budget and the type experience you want. The Mears shuttle is going to run you about $32 pp, r/t. It will take up to 90 mins. I used it and it took about 75 mins. It was actually quite pleasant. I was in a van with a bunch of very friendly folks. We had a great time chatting with each other as well as with the driver, who was very knowledgable about the area.

But I have also used a car service as well. Very nice way to go.
I wouldn't use a cab....a car service is going to be about the same price and is so much nicer.

A rental car is fine, but you will pay to park it at the S/D.

I've used a taxi ($63 one way plus tip), Mears shuttle ($21 one way or $32 round trip) and town car ($115 plus tip round trip). If I'm travelling alone I take the Mears shuttle. If it's a group I take a cab.

If it's just the two of you than Mears shuttle would probably be the cheapest option for you. One of the advantages that the towncar services offer is a complementary 30 minute grocery stop. Renting a car would also give you the option of stopping at a store(s) on you way to the s/d.

We are staying at the s/d in June (our first time there) and ended up reserving a Tiffany Towncar Van. It ended up being the best option for our party of 5.
