MCO shopping and then through security check

Looking at the MCO website they have some great shopping. I was wondering do you go through the security check before you reach the eating and shopping areas or do you go through security after and on your way to your specific terminal.

If you are at MCO to fly home, the better stores and the food court are before you go through security.

shopping is definitely before. there's still sufficient food past security, at least on side a.

how much time should we allow to get through security--we fly out on a Thursday... plane leaves at 2:30--will be to the airport around 10 a.m.

depends on the lines i suppose. i would say ideally you want to be THROUGH security at least 20 minutes before the flight. and i've heard (never experienced) security can get upwards of 90 minutes or so.

My family and I would only look at the Walt Disney EarPort store unless there was something we forgot to purchase in WDW, or if we knew we had a lot of time before our flight and the line at security check point was not that long. However once we check-in for our flight we would usually go right to the security check point line to be on the safe side.

The planes start boarding about a half hour before your scheduled departure time so you should be sitting at the gate.

They are recommending at least 2 hours to get through the airport. The lines can be long at the ticket counter, curbside and going through security.

And remember. Liquids bought in those cool shops are STILL subject to the 3 oz rule. No exception because you bought it at Lush!!!! (I like to run in there when I land LOL!)

we are coming off a cruise so I would like to stop at the disney stores since I won't be anywhere else to do so. If we are there by 10 we should have plenty of time after we check our luggage in at US Airways to browse around until we head to our flight.
