Hi guys,

Need a bit of help planning for our WDW trip in Oct 2014. Flights have just come up. Really reasonable price, so I'm hoping to book tonight when DH gets home from work:banana:

We are toying with flying out a day early and staying at a hotel close to MCO then heading to WDW the following day. Has anyone ever done this?

Can anyone recommend a hotel (is the Hyatt at the airport any good?) and do you know if we will still be able to catch Magical Express the following morning?

Thanks in advance!

Haven't stayed at the airport but as long as you are checking in that day just give Disney any flight number from the morning to book ME! Just look at the MCO website for flight details ;)

Great, thanks!

We are going to hire a car, but don't necessarily need it for the first day.

We did this in September. I just called Magical Express and told them we had a late flight so we'd be staying at the airport hotel. You'll just have to retrieve your own bags and don't use the DME tags. Worked out great! You can read about my experience with Hyatt MCO and DME in my trip report in my signature.

I toyed with this a few weeks ago when I went but decided against it.

Ultimately, we decided to book a room only reservation at a value hotel for night 1, then transfer to our normal hotel for night 2. We thought this worked out great.

I rented a car from Disney Car Care (Alamo) the next morning so transferring hotels was easy. (Alamo picks you up from your Disney Hotel)

Brilliant! Will check out your TR once I'm on the laptop.

Thank you.

Thanks for this - I've booked the flight for a day early, going to check this out as an option.
