MCO from Magic Kingdom....via Dolphin

Hi all. We are going from MK to the airport on our last day, but our luggage will be at the Dolphin. (1) How far in advance of our flight should we leave MK?

(2) We have private transportation booked from the Dolphin and will probably take Lyft from MK to Dolphin. If we walk to Contemporary can we get picked up by Lyft there? Last couple of trips I would have solved this with Minnie Van but not an option this time.

If anyone has better suggestions I'm open. I just hate to lose so much of our last day to travel. We've already had it cut short by a flight change.

I would work backwards. Based on your flight time, you probably want to be in the car, packed and heading to the airport about 2.5 to 2.75 hours before flight time. MCO security can be a long process. I would allow 45 minutes to get from MK to Dolphin, so you have time to get there and get your luggage loaded.

Is there a reason you wouldn't just take a Disney bus back to Dolphin? That sounds easier and shorter, potentially, than walking to CR and getting a ride service. Of course, WDW buses can be frustrating at times.

Yeah, that's why I think walking to Contemporary could be faster unless we get really lucky with the monorail. I guess we could also take a bus to one of the Disney resorts near the Dolphin.

Sounds like we should be leaving MK 3.5 hours before our flight, realistically. That's a bummer.

The car service we booked wants to pick us up at the Dolphin 3 hours before our flight, just like ME. We'll likely try to be back there an hour before that to make sure we have time to get our bags and deal with whatever last minute crisis is likely to pop up.

Saddly thats just how its works at the airport these days. Sometimes you dont need that time but on the off chance you do you cant chance it. I never book a park day on departure day unless the flight is after 6pm. We would normaly do a DS day if we have a later flight but not late enough.

Yeah, we had a later flight but it got cancelled. Sucks, but nothing that can really be done about it.

Spending your departure day at DHS EPCOT or the Grotto Pool makes a lot of se sense.
