I'm terminal A and B impaired. Which will I be flying into on Delta? Where is the DME desk located? (terminal wise) Trying to decide between picking up our rental at the airport, or at the Dolphin the next day ($40 cheaper). We are arriving late, so will be getting our bags ourselves either way.

Thanks for the links. Now I know that Delta flies into the B terminal, but I still don't know where DME is located. Anyone??

Disney Welcome Center is at the A side of the terminal. I'd just bring enough in my carryon for my first night and let them delivery my luggage the next morning.

A normal person might do that. I on the other hand would not sleep well because I was worried that my luggage never made it to Orlando. I would rather see it...

I saw the map, but how far is it actually from the B to A side? We would have to be down on level one either way, as our other option is a rental car.

From the secured areas and gates, the A and B areas are about the same distance away each. After getting off the tram from Delta's gates and then exit security and get into the hotel atrium, turn towards the right,

From the lowest level of the A side to the lowest level of the B side is a little longer and you have to go up and down stairs.

The Magical Express area is on the lowest level of the A side, around bus parking space no. 30. You can peek outside every now and then as you try to use space numbers to guide you.

But how well will you sleep if you KNOW your luggage didn't make it to MCO.

Look at the terminal map Safetymom linked to.

When you get off the monorail you're basically on the imaginary line that separates the A and B side of the terminal. The walk to the Disney Welcome Center is about the same once you get off the monorail.

Unless DME caused the airport to open a back entrance you'll have to get your luggage and go back up to the the third level of the terminal and then walk across to the other side and then take the elevator to the ground level.

Although there seem to be DME reps as soon as you get off the monorail with their big Mickey hands to help you out. THere was lady still there waiting for people when my flight landed late last night (this morning) at 1:30 am or so!

>>> A-B Impaired

The main terminal building upper level is a rectangle. The A side is one long side, the B side is the other long side. Trams from gates 1 to 59 bring passengers to the middle of one short side, where most of the stores are. Trams from gates 60 to 129 bring passengers to the middle of the other short side, where the Hyatt hotel is.

The A and B side lower levels respectively extend outwards more, so the building footprint at the lowest level is more squarish.

LewisC,

If I knew my luggage didn't make it, I would fill out the paperwork that night and then just wait and hope. We split our clothes into separate bags, so hopefully we would each have a few things to wear (besides the clothes in our carryons). I could sleep knowing the bags were being looked for. Hey, I never said I was logical.

Can't I get to side A from the second level where we get our bags?

ducklite,

That is good to know. Did you get your own luggage? It was suggested to me by the DME representative. Did you have to wait long for the bus to leave? We have a long day planned the next day, I don't want to waste time at the airport.
