Since the stroller increase, I've been reading a lot about mclaren strollers and how everyone just loves them. I was planning on bringing our jogging stroller, but its bulky and heavy. Could someone give me some more information on them? Where can I find the best deal on one? There are so many styles - how do I tell which one is good for me? Our daughter is 13 months old, and I'm sure she'll be needing naps throughout the day. Thanks for any info.:lovestruc

I have a 2005 Maclaren Triumph. My Ds is now 5 and we don't use it that much anymore but it has been one of my favorites.(we still use it at WDW) This particular Mac is an umbrella stroller but it reclines! It folds so easily, like an umbrella stroller, and it is very lightweight. It has a full canopy and comes with a rain cover. It also has a basket underneath. The best is that it is comfy and reclines unlike many umbrella strollers. It also has a 5 point harness. I love that Mac's come with a warranty and now they offer a lifetime warranty too! They sell replacement pieces on their site too, like the canopy. The seat can be taken off and washed and the canopy can be cleaned with a wet rag. It holds up to 55lbs! That is not a typo, it really holds that much weight. The handles are also higher than the standard umbrella strollers so no bending when you wheel it. It steers easily and smooth. Here is a link to the official site. Click on the tabs to read all the Mac info like specs, features....

I wish I could give you more information other than it is the Cadillac of strollers (according to my wife). We'll be going to Disney in May and we HAD to get a MacLaren for our trip. I will say it is very light and compact. Also the canopy is made of UV material so it will protect the little one from the sun.

I have a Volo that I purchased last year from Toys R Us for $25. It was such a bargain, I couldn't pass it up. That's the lowest I've seen them. We haven't used ours yet as we need to wait until the baby is older, but it's very light, foldable with one hand and seems to be excellent rolling on carpet :D I think the only drawback of the volo is that it doesn't recline

albeebaby.com usually has previous year models on sale or clearance and about a month ago, I saw one at Target for $99. Sorry I can't give you more info...

This is all very good info. I'm already convinced I *need* one. :) I think I'll start my search now. ha ha ha

I bought mine from babydealz.com. They have discounts on older models, no sales tax, and free shipping.

Before I purchased, I went to Babies R Us to test them out to see if I wanted the Volo or Triumph. The Triumph is more expensive, but won hands down for our needs. Our DD was 4 at the time and she didn't have a lot of room in the Volot. The Triumph seems to have more room and it reclines.

So, if you have a Babies R Us near you, I would go test them out and then search online for the best deal.

Good luck!

I've been looking on websites - what's the difference between the triumph, the techno, the quest, etc...

We bought a 2006 Triumph last summer and wished we had it for Disney. It's extremely lightweight and can be pushed with one finger - LOVE it!
Our DS has never napped in a stroller so we didn't need to worry about the recline. The triumphs recline isn't very much at all so if you need a stroller for napping then I would suggest the Maclaren Quest (pretty sure that model is the next step up from the Triumph).
I bought mine on clearance (it was the previous year's model) at albeebaby.com - cost me $110 total.

I'll go check that one out!

oooooh... Love the adjustable foot rest for the quest. I did the comarison chart and didn't see a difference between the quest sport and mod, except in price. Am I missing something?:surfweb:

I found a Maclaren umbrella stroller 75% off at Target when my youngest was 3. Even though he was getting to the end of needing a stroller, at that price ($37.50) I bought it.

That was the best stroller I ever used! Loved it, loved it, loved it! It was lightweight, a breeze to push, and even had a carrying strap. If I had it to do over, I would have spent the money for a Maclaren from day one.

Oh, and I sold it for $50 when we were done :)

I would suggest going to a store and actually checking out the strollers in person. You don't have to buy it there.

I found that I preferred the Volo better. It was lighter. It doesn't recline but my girls were older. It would have been nice but I found that I liked the lightweightness and the material of the volo and I did find the reclining feature on the other models arkward for ME to do one handed.

I would definitely go with the Maclaren, it will last you YEARS.

I've got the Twin Techno, and you couldn't pry it out of hands! I love it! I got mine on eBay for roughly the same price as the Triumph in the stores. eBay always has tons of Maclarens of all shapes and sizes. Try checking there, just make sure you check the seller's feedback before bidding. ;)

I purchased my first mac off of craigslist it had no wear on the wheels and was the same price that they were selling on ebay but I didn't have to pay the shipping. I got the 2006 Techno Classic.

I have currently been looking to buy another b/c I use my techno everyday I hate to take it out of my car when we go places w/ other family members b/c I have been known to forget it. I started asking questions about the different models and have decided that I will be buying a quest. It has all the same features as the techno but not the huge cost.

~The volo is your basic umbrella,
~the triumph is a step above your basic umbrella w/ the slight recline,
~the quest has a deeper recline as well as the adjustable foot rest (I believe this model also has the extendable handles but am not 100% on that b/c its not a feature I need.
~the techno has a larger canopy, adjustable handles, 4 position recline, one model has a 55pound weight limit and the XLR has a 65 pound weight limit.

I got mine at Albeebaby.com

They have great prices. I think Maclaren is the way to go if you have more than one kid to go thru or a larger child. They wear like iron.

The only difference between the Quest Mod and Sport is the color or fabric pattern.

For the age of your DD, I would go with the Techno or Quest. You are going to want the better recline because she is still young and the seat is a little more comfy.
