I saw on the Travel channel the McDonald's that has 2 levels. Downstairs is the restaurant portion and upstairs is the game room. Does anyone know exactly where it is and is the menu prices about the same?

I think the one you saw was the one on International Dr. Don't know about the price because I've never eaten there. You can see it from I-4. The MacDonald's in WDW are higher in price then other Mickey D's and not worth it IMHO.

I agree with Tail. Plus, I've always been of the mindset of, “Why on earth would I eat at McDonald’s when I'm at Walt Disney World?" I'm not saying every meal has to be sitdown, but for the price of Disney's version of McDonald's, I'd rather eat at some other form of counter service! Then again, maybe that's just me!

Richard,
I saw the bottom of your reply about finding someone, and I just thought I would share. Every person I even had been "serious" with had to past the going to Disneyland test. I can tell you it was a great way to keep out the ones I didn't want.

Going solo to the World of the Mouse? I would love to try that some time, and I'm thinkng about doing it soon.

I thought the same thing... why go to McDonald's while I'm on vacation. But from what I saw, my kids would really love it. It's kinda like Chuck E Cheese. And besides, it's their vacation too. Me personally, I don't really care for Mcdonald's, but anything to keep them busy so they can fall out at the end of the day.

We went to this McDonalds (On I Drive, not far from Turkey Lake Road) on our Feb 2003 trip one day for breakfast. DD loved it. That McDonalds, from what I remember, had pizza, grinders(?), ice cream (breyers?), and good looking deserts (pies, cakes, etc.) in addition to the Big Macs and cheeseburgers. It looked pretty good, and the prices very reasonable.

I would not recommend going out of your way to go here. We stayed right down the street in Intnl. Dr last year and visited. This place is extremely overpriced(and we're from Massachusetts,so used to high prices). It is also the dirtiest place I have ever eaten in.The games were kind of like a second rate arcade(and you have to pay for them,of course.) Don't compare it to Chucky Cheese, you'll be disappointed.I would hate to see you waste even a few hours of your vacation time in a place like this.::MickeyMo

Has anyone been to the McDonalds at Downtown Disney? Do they have a playland or anything special for the kids?

If were were without the kids, we wouldn't even consider McD's while at Disney...but, it seems like a convenient place (next to legoland, I think?) to take the kids for a quick bite while at DTD.

I don't mind paying the higher prices.

No playland, there is a Lego store next to it and they have an outside area that very young kids will enjoy. But nothing at the McD's.

Thanks for the quick reply! We'll skip it since there's no playland. The boys definitely want to go to legoland, though. There are too many more interesting places to eat, I just though a playland would let the kids use up some excess energy so they may be better behaved during the shopping I want to do...LOL ;)

Just thinking about that McDonalds on I-Drive gives me the willies!!! We went there during our 2001 trip (had a week of non-Disney touring leading up to the "World"), so it may have improved since then, but I'll NEVER go back. The place was absolutely filthy! The ball-pit upstairs reaked of urine, the arcade games had food stuck all over them, the burgers were cold, the salad was warm, and there were people trying to sell us discouted tickets (to everyplace you can imagine) swarming our table while we were trying to eat. Needless to say, I lost my appetite rather quickly, and couldn't wait to get out of there. Three years later, we still site that as the worst experience of that vacation.

About the McD's at DTD--

We went to DTD the first evening of our vacation and had a great time shopping the stores till the kids got hungry and cranky. Lines were impossibly long at the other eateries and we had no reservations, so we went into the McDonald's. It was clean, not overly crowded (this was in July), and though somewhat overpriced was not too unreasonable. The food was fine, the usual BigMacs, etc.
DS 3 still talks about that trip to McDonald's--he really enjoyed the drink refill stands that had funny sound effects, and it was very convenient to go right over to the little Lego play area afterward to let the kids play for a bit.

I've always made it a point to take DS to McD's in DD. He's always thought that McD's is one of the finest restaurants anywhere so I suffer through it for him. And this location is quite clean and cute.

On our trip last year my dh, dbil, and my 2 older children went to IOA for a day and my ds who was 6 at the time and I stayed in WDW for a day to ourselves. We went to Downtown Disney and he wanted to eat at McDonald's. I had the same thoughts as some of you...why eat at McDonald's while at WDW? I tried to talk him into something else but he was going through "McNugget withdrawal" or something :D and he was being such a trooper about spending the day with just mom and not getting to go to IOA (he would have been very limited as to what he could ride there) that I agreed. The service was fast and friendly, the food hot, and the place was clean. I looked at the prices and they were a bit higher than at home but not bad. They also had ice cream selections that we don't have at home. On future trips I still would rather eat somewhere we don't have at home, but as far as McDonald's goes this one is above average.

we happened eat at the McDonald's just outside of MGM once during our trip in November of last year. The kids were tired and hot, and McDonald's was familiar food and convenient. It turned out to be a wonderful place to relax and "recharge" because there was a wall-sized TV showing (you guessed it)....Disney movies! We couldn't get the kids to leave. We will plan on stopping by for a quick lunch during our December trip coming up.
