When I went to Disney in California (long time ago now), they had these snack carts that just sold McDonalds fries and nothing else. Anyone know if they have these at WDW?? This is going to be my very first WDW experience so I just wondered. Thanks! :)

no, not anymore

McD's gone from the parks since 2007

there is only one place for a McDonald's and that's at the entrance of the All Star Resorts (restaurant does not offer all of McD's product range and is at "Disney prices")

here's a link for you, for nostalgia

Darn! No offence to Disney but taking those carts out is stupid! Loads of people use to use them. They did in California anyway. But then, I've had SO many bad experiences of Disney, am hoping and praying nothing's going to go wrong this time. If it wasn't my son's dream to go, we wouldn't be going at all :( Thanks for the link though :)

Hopefully this trip will restore your faith. I had a difficult trip last year and we went back this year and it was the best trip ever. I can't wait to go back!

WDW is much bigger than California. The CA parks don't appeal to me when there's so much more at WDW for a similar cost :) I'm sure you will love it.

It's not stupid at all for Disney - now people have to buy their burgers and fries and sodas, which they make much more money on :rotfl2: Captive audience, remember?

People still use the places that used to sell the McDonalds fries just now they buy the Disney fries.

Disney had a contract and it expired as neither company wanted it to continue - thats business!

I don't know what bad experiences you have had with Disney but I am guessing they are not in WDW and more likely Paris. WDW is completely different to all the other parks around the world due to its size.

That made me chuckle!

DH has vowed never to waste another penny there lol. We've been twice and the service compared to WDW was.... Interesting ;) there's nothing to really do at night either.

Still I suppose it works to my advantage, if I suggest it then undoubtedly he'd say "no way, I'd rather spend ten times as much on WDW" which I will take as carte blanche to start planning another trip :rotfl:

Luckily you can get fries anyway. But even more luckily the food you can get is very varied and not all burgers and fries. I certainly wouldn't base an experience in WDW as bad if I couldn't get Mcdonald Fries:)

Yeah.. sorry, I should've explained my bad experience was that, at the California park, I was asked for a tip from both Tigger and Whinnie The Pooh as well as being sworn at by CM's on 3 different rides! I've also found Disney's customer service over the phone when trying to plan this trip has been shockingly bad and cost me a fortune for the privilege. It kind of leaves a bad impression of Disney when all the non-Disney places couldn't do enough for me. I'm hoping they're going to restore my faith in them and make my son's dreams come true but we'll see.

No, not a tip from a character. Probably my rubbish use of the English language. Whinnie The Pooh and Tigger were asking us to give them a tip (money) as they'd posed for photos with us! There was a MASSIVE queue of little kids so I just said nothing and walked off or it would've surely ruined those kids' Disney memories which I don't think ANY adult has a right to do. Disney to a child is as magical as the tooth fairy and Santa Claus!

A character asked you for a tip? How? They can't talk

So... a tip from two characters? :confused3

Yeah.. Whinnie The Pooh asked for money and so did Tigger! In California, the meet and greets are just 1 character at a time (or they were when we went) and they would have MASSIVE queues just for 1 character! :( They said that, like everything in America, you were expected to give them a tip for the privilege of posing with them! :(

I can assure you in Florida that they will not ask for a tip. I have done literally hundreds of meet & greets with both fur and face characters and they all just interact, sign & pose (face characters such as the princesses will also talk).

I can't guarantee you wont come across a CM having a bad day (there are around 60,000 staff employed in WDW) however they are few and far between and they will not swear at you.

Sorry OP, are you saying that you were expected to tip the Disney characters at Disneyland in California? Sounds more like Vegas to me :rotfl2:

And I can't believe that three separate CMs swore at you, I hope you reported them to Guest Services.

I would have reported the CM's who asked for a tip regarding the characters. I don't really understand though as they can't talk to ask for a tip.

I have never ever heard any one else say they were asked to tip characters :confused3

I would wonder where on earth they would put the tip :confused3

I have been to California Disneyland twice, far too many years ago to say and no tips were ever asked for.

They may not be supposed to talk but they were hugging me while we were posing so we were dead close and then they were all like "we work for tips over here you know. Where else can you pose with us?" It was the same on Boulevard of the Stars. I got my photo taken with two storm troopers from Star Wars and they asked me to tip them as well! Maybe it's just a California thing but it does put you off

Oh I don't doubt the storm troopers on Boulevard asked for tips. But not in Disney I would have complained about it.
