I never ate a meal there, I much prefer one of the many restaraunts or Earl of Sandwich at DTD but I did like theMc'D's cones, especially the orange and vanilla swirl.
But the decore was great, I loved looking at the lod toys and stuff they used to sell when I was young way back in the stone age.
I wish they could have put the Pollo place somewhere else and kept McD's it was always busy and a good choice for the familys that were on a budget.
I will check out that chicken place though, it does sound like it might be an interesting place to go.
Wish they'd get off the health food kick. Some of us enjoy eating junk rather than healthy foods, especially on vacation.... and it should be OUR choice, not forced down our throats by Disney.
Honestly??? Disney is forcing you to eat healthy food?
A hot dog on a ww bun does not a "healthy" food make, nor a double cheeseburger with bacon on the same What are these horrible new kids meals? Chicken nuggets? Pizza? Because they come with the option of a vegetable or fruit , that makes them too healthy for vacation? They still also offer pudding or a cookie
This new restaurant features fried chicken, don't worry, there is still plenty of junk for everyone. Worried it is going to be in trans-fat free oil?
Maybe all the restaurants should have a tub of sugared bacon grease on the counter next to the ketchup, so all the healthy food complainers can slather on some and feel they got their vacations worth.
I will miss the MCD's. It is a constant in the midst of vacation. I liked being able to get a fountain soda to drink while I shopped and I liked being able to get the kids food from somewhere they know what they like. It may not be healthy but I like MCD's occasionally.
We have eaten at the Pollo Campero's here in Houston and I think it's okay. My husabnd really likes it, however my father does not since he says it's too greasy. The sides we usually get are the beans (yummy) and rice with corn tortillas. You can get rolls instead of the tortillas.
I have never eaten there either. However, I just got back from 24 days in WDW (yes I said 24 days) and I noticed there were a lot of Latin guests so I'm thinking this may be a very popular spot.
I'm sad to see it go! The prices at that McD's weren't really any different than the prices here in the Boston area. For instance, last year, a Big Mac meal at DTD was only fifty cents more than at Boston Garden. Not a big difference! And DH will never eat at the chicken place. Nothing "latin-y" for his palate. Last time he ate a latin rice dish, he uhh, wasn't feeling well for days! The spices are just not what we particularly appreciate in our meat and potatoes household!
