I am looking for an address for complaints to head office, after a horrible meal last week, I have got enviromental health involved but as yet they have not come back to me and I am seething and want to complain direct to head office with photo's of the offending burger.

On Thursday due to the children having so many after school activities we decided that we would get a McDonalds take away - so whilst I was dressing ds after a swimming lesson DH went to get the food - a happy meal, a Mc chicken meal and a bigmac meal. We got home and got out plates etc unpacked food only to discover that someone had already taken a bite out of the Big mac!!! a full crescent through all layers bite! My first instinct was to go back and return it but on second thoughts decided that I would phone the manager and keep hold of the burger to contact enviromental services - the manager could not see why I was so upset and just kept offering me a free bigmac meal next time - he did not get the point that there won't be a next time and I wanted a full refund for all the food purchased as I threw the rest of it away but he kept insisting that I could only get a refund for the bigmac meal and did not even really apologise to me. On Friday morning I phoned the enviromental team at the council and I am still waiting for an officer to come back to me and I have frozen the offending burger.

So now you see why I am so angry and want to write to head office - can anyone help me. Thank you.

Sorry I don't know but just had to stop by and say ....

Ewwwwwwwwwwww

No wonder you want to complain and so you should - let us know how you get on.

:( Sorry to hear about your experience with McD's - similar to ours (proven they had rats, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek).

Knowing these fast foot outlets are just franchises these days, I deliberately wrote to McD's head office, if I still had the address I'd give it to you, but this was a few years ago now. Imagine my surprise - not - when I got a letter back from the local branch where I'd made the complaint about:eek: I was very disappointed, but so happy with my £5 voucher by ways of shutting me up:mad: It didn't ;) Needless to say we've never been in there, wouldn't want to again.

Try this

McDonald's Restaurants Ltd. 11-59 High Road, East Finchley, London N2 8AW

I got it from their UK website.

When you write, I would suggest that you mention you are a member of a very popular bulletin board, that you are letting all the members know about your terrible experience, and that other members are joining in to share their bad experiences!

Let us know what response you get.

Julie

...... they also have a feedback form on their website but I would strongly recommend writing to Customer Services - don't phone, you are more likely to get a result by writing - and send a copy to the local environment folk/Food Standards agency, and on your letter actually write at the bottom CC to the local environment office/Food Standards Agency so they see you are copying these people.

As Julie says, it will be interesting to see what response you get.

BTW, include date and time you bought the meal - this narrows down which staff were working there at the time.

Send the letter recorded delivery as well so they can't claim they never got it!!
Claire ;)

Typical Mc'donalds In the UK I say.
I've just complaint, to the address on one of these messages, because Chelsea hate's ketchup so does DP, we ordered Burgers PLAIN, and when we got home they was all covered in gurkins and all sorts, that ruined the whole meal, so I wrote off, just got a letter with £10 vouchers inside! As if that makes up for it.
Also the attitudes of there staff is ridiculous (in the mc'ds we visited), they seem inexperienced and lacking in service with a smile, more like serve with awkwardness! aahh!
Hope you get somewhere, no doubt they will try and fob you off with vouchers! GR!

Thanks for all the help and I will certainly keep you posted about any reply that we should recieve, we also order burgers completely plain quite clearly stating no ketchup or onions just the burger and the bun and they still can't get it right even on one occasion when we ate in forgetting to cook the burger all together and when I complained they just said it will be 3-4 mins when I originally ordered it 15 mins. earlier.

I have taken photo's of the offending burger before freezing it so will send them off as well.

hi, we used to work for mcdonalds and the number to ring is 0800 big mac, this puts you through to customer services, even though most are now franchises they are still answerable to mcdonalds and have to stay up to there standards!!, that address is the best one to write to it is there main office, hope this helps susie

when we buy at McDonalds we always check our order before we leave the car park.

They NEVER get it right!!

I dont know why we bother going back...probably just give in at a weak hungry moment!

Read "Fast Food Nation" and you will never ever eat in a MacDonalds restaurant. It's scary.

I don't like cheeseburgers so always order a 1/4 pounder with NO cheese - I've lost count of the number of times they get it wrong and put cheese on it

Tim,

Exactly the same happens to me:earseek:

The times I have bought a drive through or takeaway and they have given me a cheeseburger that I can't eat:crazy:

I've emailed McD's through their website last week after waiting 30 minutes for a meal & even then som eof it being cold and/or inedible. I did complain (very politely) to the duty manager who was extremely rud eto me in return.

I did get a very prompt and apologetic email reply and was offered vouchers. They sent me £5 which didn't even cover half the cost of the meal  It'll be sent back with a letter !

I don't wish to be rude but if you all have experienced so many problems with McD's why eat there?

I haven't stepped foot in a McD's for nearly 4 years and intend never to eat in one ever again. The food is reconstituted pap and they treat people (staff & customers) like scum - so why pay for the privilege?

Totally agree!

..... where you eat, be it MD's or a top class restaurant - let them know if you have a problem with food, service or whatever. Writing and communicating is the only way to sorting problems out.

I personally don't like MD's but millions do, hence the amount of restaurants they have worldwide. If I had a problem with them I wouldn't hesitate to let them know - why sweep it under the carpet - who's winning ?

I go 'cos my kids love it, and the crap sevice/wrong orders/overcooked-undercooked/out timed 'food' goes over their heads.

Our local McD sounds like most of yours too. Wrong orders really bite me, how they can get it wrong when your order is listed infront of them ....... At ours they seem to 'help' each other, on the few days there is more than one person doing 4 jobs, so no-one knows whats gone in the bag.

ALWAYS check your order before leaving, and if it holds up the line, just announce loudly - with a big shrug, "my order is ALWAYS wrong".

Always insist on getting the Manager out of his office, and tell him he is running a crap operation - he gets paid upto £26k plus loads of extras [I once got their HR pack] -tell him loudly, infront of the lines.
I believe in 'getting the boss out' to deal with his problems, mostly down to lack of staff or staff training - for what he gets paid for. Don't yell at the poor sod on the till - they are overworked, underpaid, with nil motivation - in most cases.
Still I want to know how they mix up the orders so often though.

Everytime my branch gets it wrong I fire off a fax via the pc, they usually send a £5 voucher with std letter, but at least I get my money back for the 'food' I didn't get or couln't eat.

I have no choice for my kids, it's McD or nothing. No other fast food here. [within 20 minute drive].

I have the same problem as a lot of you with McD - I don't like their food but my kids do! The only thing I really like in McD is the McFlurry which they can't get too wrong because they don't have to cook it and only has two ingredients - the ice cream and whatever topping you want.

I much prefer Burger King's burgers and their food generally. But they suffer with some of the same problems, e.g. getting orders wrong.
