McCain Vs. Obama

This is also what is a shame but it is caused from the media, the OS and the DNC....this article is not about race but gender....and it will be a problem for Obama come NOV.....

I know that many many OS feel that they will not need HS to vote for him...that he can just get out there and register all the unregistered to come his way still.

But with all the millions of voters that have voted for Hillary not voting for Obama it is going to hurt him in the General. And the ones that are planning on voting for McCain(more because of the DNC IMO than Obama) will only help McCain....

I for one agree with everything in this article and is how I feel except for the voting for McCain....sorry McCain supporters  I plan for the first time in 30 years not to cast a vote but will write in Hillarys name. Or GOT DISNEY :faint:

Writing in Hillary's name in essence is a vote for McCain.

Not really cause me voting for McCain the vote would count as one more vote....me not voting for him or Obama wipes my vote out.

I think sometimes you just have to agree to disagree.

I think that everyone is passionate about "their" candidate and want to convince us all how great they are. There are pros and cons of each.

I admire Hilary a great deal, and I hate to see her lose the democratic nomination...but the handwriting's on the wall. And now I need to decide once and for all if can support Obama in an election. I've hoped all along that Hilary wouldbe "my " candidate, but I guess it's not meant to be. :(

Same here - I'm hoping that Hillary is asked to be the VP candidate. I think the ticket would be unbeatable. My two cents of course!

In my opinion, the candidates are very closely aligned - their views on the issues are very similar, so I've looked outside that realm and decided to support McCain.

While I know that health insurance is in need of an overhaul, I do not want to see universal healthcare instituted here. I am not sure of what the answer is, but that is not. On the other hand, I would like to see the $1k a month my family pays for health insurance reduced - whether it is by tax credits for paying it, or our family being able to buy into a large, affordable plan - I just don't know what the answer is.

Both of them are interested in offering a plan of citizenship for the millions of illegals we have here- actually, from what I've read, McCain's is more liberal than Obama's! I don't think a fence (Obama is supporting) will help.

I think it's too late for NAFTA changes to make a real change in our economy - Obama is supporting revamping that (democratic) program which sent many US jobs across our borders. It really hurt our economy a lot, in my opinion.

They both oppose same sex marriage, but are for civil unions.

McCain's stand on abortion is interesting - he wants it left up to the states' to decide.

Both of them are for stem cell research.

Biggie - the war in Iraq - I don't think a pullout date should be publicized - I disagree that McCain plans business as usual over there - he served our country during a war very similar to the one we're in, he has been there with the troops - he knows what the guys there are facing, and doesn't want them to be there a moment longer than necessary. I think setting a pullout date would be disasterous for the people of that country.

The church thing really turned me off for Obama- as many people on the DIS frequently say they don't "belong" to a church, I'm not sure they understand - I am a member, supporter, attender, and believer in my church. I was quite uncomfortable when Bob Corker came to our service when he was running for office in our state - he didn't speak, but when "special guests" were announced he was introduced (just like when any other groups/prominent guests are in attendance)...anyway, as part of a church of believers I can say 100% he was aware of the things that were being said/preached there - and as a fellow church-goer and leader, he had a responsibility to speak out against it. Heck, even when he "quit" the church, he didn't quit because of what was being said, it was because it came back to hurt him, as it should have. I am part of a large church in my town, the largest one here, and hear things from others who don't go there - I "own" the comments - whether they're good or bad, if that makes sense.

On a Obama/Clinton ticket - I just don't see Hillary in the VP spot - that position is so ceremonial... the only thing is, if BO wins, and then wins again in 4 more years, his VP could be poised to be the dem. nominee.

I see a lot of people saying no to an Obama/Hillary ticket. I wonder if some are really saying it because they think she's too polarizing or if it's just the old hatred for Hillary popping up again? I don't see why the OS wouldn't want to be able to count on the HS. I'm not nearly as confident as some that the HS will just fall into lockstep.

Anyway, McCain's hope will probably have to be the Independents and enough HS moving in his direction. I didn't dislike this speech as much as some but he does come across as kind of unimpressive.
