McCain or Obama ?

I'm going to have to go for McCain.
I just don't feel good about someone with less experience to be president.
Maybe in a few years when Obama has more experience.

::yes:: I think that in a few years, after Obama's established himself more, he should run again and most likely win. Just right now, him being president doesn't seem logical.

Sarah Palin.

Shes all about family values and her 17 year old daughter is pregnant.
She is strongly Pro-Life and Anti-Gay Marrige.
Absolutely no foreign policy experience.

GREAT CHOICE.

Exactly. people continue to bash Sarah, yet she is only running for the VP. Barack Obama has only a little more experience, yet he is running for President. It just is funny that Barak's running mate has more experience than he does! :lmao:

i'm a democrat..

I meant the democrats in office, and those who were running the Convention.

If God forbid, John McCain got ill or died, she would step in as President. She also will be left in charge of the country or other important things when McCain is some place else and not in the country or whatnot. Vice-president is a very important position.

I can't help but laugh when I hear Palin's name. She actually supports this strange belief that people are gay because they don't pray enough. If you pray more, you become "un-gay". What the heck is she coming from? The powers that be don't damn people into gayness. *shakes head*

Agreed.
Palin is not fit to run a country.

I actually think that Sarah could run a country, just not now. I'm still on the McCain boat though.

very bad. that just shows how unpatriotic democrats are. (those in office and those who ran the democratic convention)

Not all democrats are 'unpatriotic'. I don't necessarily agree with them just throwing out the flags, but if someone ever said that they've never seen a republican do the exact same thing then I know for a fact they'd be lying.

And when you really think about it, NONE of the people have 'experience' in the positions they are running for. Being president and vp is completely different then being part of congress etc. So really, the 'experience' they do or don't have at the moment really won't make that much of a difference either way.

It's like when a person who works at a school says they have experience being a lunch lady, but then becomes a teacher. It's completely different and new things will need to be learned regardless of what they did before.

Same here.
I think, like I said about Obama, once she gets more experienced she'll be qualified in the way she should be.

Sarah Palin tried to get a librarian fired because she wouldn't take away the books that she wanted to ban.

That would never change my opinion whatsoever? I don't even see how that really matters.

that's why I don't think Palin is qualified to even be VP. She is so wrapped up in religion and that shouldn't be a part of the government at all. And I totally disagree with her on most points.

She has her views and just...displays them more than others.

As harsh as this sounds, Sarah Palin would be in better shape if she left her religion out of everything. The comments she has made in the past that have involved God are a major turn off. If you're going to potentially be practically the leader of the free world, you need to make decisions off your choices, God not involved. Don't ask for people to pray, don't do what God thinks would be better, do what YOU feel would be best for this country now, and 20 years from now.

I have no problem with someone believing or worshipping God, but religion needs to be seperated from politics/government.

ITA. It reminds me of one of my cultural literacy words:

Render unto Caesar things which are Caesars'.
Meaning, keep politics and religion seperate.

Could I have a source on the whole book banning thing? I heard about it on the internet and can't seem to find anything decent.

That would never change my opinion whatsoever? I don't even see how that really matters.

Because it's totally fascist?
