McCain Doesn't Recall

Um, I'm sure it is important - just not politically.

The guy is a politician who happens to want to be president. Everything had better be important to him politically, especially the health and well-being of over 50% of the US population.

Read it again. I didn't say that you thought it shouldn't be covered. But you never referred to any other use than for birth control. Unless I missed it somewhere. :confused3

So, because I never mentioned it in this thread, that automaticaly means I believe that is it's only use? Again, that goes to my orginial post about not putting words in my mouth.

We actually agree on the over all subject though, so even if I felt it was only for BC (which I don't) what does it matter?

I didn't say that. I said it seems. If I was positive, then I would have said that's all you think. Sheesh.

Thanks for the green light, but you certainly weren't stopping any traffic with your wit. :confused3

Just a short observation on the general tone of this thread. Nuts!

Funny how things progress from a lazy shot to Sen McCain on his lack of perfect recall on a small legislative matter to -he's not fit to be my President due to memory problems which then morphs into a general "why is he against women" meme- in like two seconds flat.

Nuts is a simple reminder that, while it may be "fashionable" to spend our time talking about female health issues , it is only speaking about one side of the issue........it leaves out the male side...... hence my one word response.

Sorry for the subtlety. ;)

and the "flip-flopping" thing is pure projection from those who support Sen "What do I think today" Obama.

It is much cheaper for insurance companies to cover BC than to cover a pregnancy/birth.

Then perhaps that's the problem. If they were doing what the constitution and the oath of their office requires of them, and leaving the rest to the states and the people, as the constitution requires of them, then perhaps we would all be alot better off.

You're probably right, I just would like to have a President that has some sort of semblence of intelligence. Poor McCain, he doesn't know jack. :rotfl:

But it seems that, like you, many think of the pill only as a form of BC.

I didn't say that. I said it seems. If I was positive, then I would have said that's all you think. Sheesh.

Your original sentance above. From my understanding of the english language and the proper use of punctuation etc. "It seems" refers to the "many" that think "like me". You used me as the example of what the many seem to think.

Again, we agree on the subject, I just don't like people putting word in my mouth, or thoughts in my head that I have never expressed.

Is Jack a good guy? Should I met him as well?

I'm vaccinated against those disease carrying meme's. Rotten little buggers. :rotfl:

Sorry, poorly written. It was not my intention.

So you would rather pay for everyone to have birth control but not to have it paid for by the insurance company that the person who needs it is paying? :confused3

I never said weather I think insurance companies should pay for it or not because quite frankly I think it is stupid that they do not. What bothers me is why people feel the government should intervene?

Isn't the government of the people, by the people and for the people?

The government should be involved for the welfare of the country as health issues affect our national economy in many ways. Hate to say it, but it boils down to the buck.

Because despite all the chatter about industries regulating themselves, history has shown that corporate greed sometimes gets in the way of good business practices. Not to mention that some things (healthcare and education) shouldn't necessarily be profit-driven endeavors. These are socially necessary institutions and when you add a profit incentive, somebody is going to get screwed over so the shareholders can come out ahead. Don't get me wrong. I love a good dividend check as much as the next investor, but not at the expense of a cancer or transplant patient.

OMG, do I sound like a Republican? :scared1:

There are many that would argue that corporate "greed" promotes good business practices, as bussinesses are designed to make money.

Having said that, I do agree that in the case of health care their needs to be oversite, because good business, doesn't equate to good care.

McCain was asked a question, his response was that he didn't want to discuss it, then he said he couldn't recall his voting record and he hasn't given it much thought.

Doesn't he have any ideas about womens' health isues?

I mean, all of you have expressed more about this issue than he did.

It was frightening to watch his response. Is this what we should expect when people question him on his views and why he voted the way he did? Watching McCain try to duck and hide was painful.
