McCain Backers Glum

That's what I will do. I'm in my 40's. If we get the Carter double digit interest rates back, I figure I'll put my retirement money all in cash. Figure if I can guarantee my retirement returns to be 10%+ until retirement, you better believe I'll lock it up.

Also, this will hopefully bring us the next Reagan.

And she might be a populist moosehunter. ;)

Yeah, but reverse it and have Mc win 50.1 to 49.9 and by one state, watch the unaccepting Dem go to town. It will make 2000 look pale in comparison. :sad2:

We can accept the result, even if that close. They will not.

I really hope this is not the case, but I have to agree that it's likely.

They aren't glum. They're miserable. :lmao:

But I have to admit that I'll also enjoy sitting back and watching the mess that the Dems make and how soon the moderates who voted for him regret their decision. popcorn:: And certainly everything I can legally do to thwart him I will. :thumbsup2 If Obama wins the WH this year, I'll look forward to a Republican sweep in 2012. :woohoo:

I always wonder about this kind of thinking. If the president is legally empowered, why, as an american, wouldn't you try to give your support and help make the best of it that you can? I never understood this rationale. It seems so fatalistic and hopeless.

Obama backers "smug."

In other news....

Just like we know the Dems will if Mc should pull this thing out. Not to mention the support of the last president.

There's practically nothing that Bush did right for anyone to support him on.

Nope, not fatalistic and hopeless at all. Why in the world would I support a president that has ideals that are SO against what I believe in? That makes absolutely no sense to me. I feel that it is my civic duty to stand up against what I feel is wrong. And how am I hopeless exactly? I have said that we will take what lemons we have been given and make lemonade. :) And I will have hope that the next president will be a better one. :thumbsup2

From Carter came Reagan

Nope Nothing. We're having terrorist attacks weekly here in the States.

As for the markets, they peaked before he took office so already on the downturn when he got in. Not to mention all those rises came from companies like Enron, Worldcom, and the like that had falsilied their earnings in the 90's. Not to mention the "dot coms" who were propped up with NO earnings. We also had 9/11 happen as the markets were starting to rise back up.

As for the current collapse, the housing credit crisis is due to lending to people who should have never been granted a loan to begin with. But who required the lenders to lower their requirements?

But nope, Bush is to blame for everything.

I dunno. The McCain fans around here seem pretty enthusiastic to me.

I guess I see your point. I always get disappointed at election time up here but I never let it effect my spirit. Not saying you do, but your comments seemed to indicate you were gonna drag your heels and go out of your way to mess up Obama's presidency...if he wins....I just hope you guys have a fair election and that whoever wins can make some contribution to the world in a positive way! GO USA!

As if OS aren't hard-working Americans.rolleyes:

The woman said she won't have to WORRY about paying her bills if Obama is elected. She didn't say she would be able to pass her bills on to someone else.

Why doesn't she have to worry about paying her bills under Obama?

This should make the McCain folks feel better:

"In three days we'll choose a new steward for the presidency and begin a new chapter in our history," the Vice President said Saturday morning. "It's the biggest decision that we make together as Americans. A lot turns on the outcome. I believe the right leader for this moment in history is Senator John McCain."

Dick Cheney
