MB with DVC rented points

I couldn't find this answer, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction! We're renting DVC points for a December holiday-time trip and are AP holders. Any thoughts on if we will be MB eligable? Will it show up on MDE for us to customize? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes, you will be able to link it to MDE once you have a reservation number. We got MB for a Sept points rental stay. It was a smooth, perfect experience!

Yes, you will get Magic Bands. In fact, your customization window should already be open.

First you need to make sure that everyone is properly listed on your reservation. Next, you will need your 12-digit resort confirmation number. Hover your mouse over My Disney Experience on the main WDW page and choose My Reservations from the drop down menu. The first section is Resort Reservations. Click the tab to link a reservation and enter your confirmation number. It should link to your MDEx account.

Next, click on My Disney Experience. On the right side of the page that loads you should see several links. One should say Personalize Magic Bands. Click on it and you should be able to customize your bands.

If the link says Manage Magic Bands then it has not gone live for you. Some have reported having to do on line check in to get the link to change. If you have already done on line check in and the link does not say Personalize you should try modifying your check in. You don't need to change anything, just go in, click through the screens and hit submit.

The posters above me explained it well. I have a DVC point rental and it has worked just fine for me in theory. I have had technical problems with tickets and MDE and fastpass+, but none of that was due to the fact that we had rented points. You should be able to link your AP and your DVC reservation number and go from there. As the person above me mentioned, if you are planning a trip for this December, your window for customizing your bands and making fastpass+ selections should already be open.
I will caution you that the website was having a lot of issues this weekend and messing everything up, so I would wait a few days or ideally call in to set up your fastpass+ reservations.

Yes the previous posters did explain it well. We rented points through Davids website so we did not know the member. When our reservation was set up and I linked it to MDE ...it linked my father in law to our reservation instead of my husband (they have the same name). It took a lot of calls to IT but we finally got it straightened out.

^^This. We also rented DVC Points for our upcoming Dec trip. We linked our room ressie through MDE, along with our UT tickets, and last week we were able to Customize our MBs and make our FP+ selections as well. We have also completed the Online Check-In with our two room requests at AKV so now it's just a matter of the next 6 weeks zooming by!

Thanks all!! We have the MBs customized.

Looks like we can book FP+ for the days at DVC, but no others even though we are AP holders. Guess I have to wade back into the threads to figure that one out!
