I am thinking of purchasing the Maytag Bravos washer and steam dryer. If anyone has either and would like to register an opinion, please do.

I do...had it for a year now. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! Best appliance purchase I have ever made!! I used to have a front loader, and that did not even come close to the amount of clothes I can put in my Maytag! 42 minutes to wash, 43 minutes to dry...and it comes out dry! It is supposed to be quiet...and it is quieter than every other washer and dryer I have had, wouldn't consider it whisper quiet. But my laundry room is right off my kitchen, so I am pretty close to it. I would buy it over and over again! Clothes come out clean, little detergent. This is the first washer I have had that has a setting for "clean washer" though. Every month or so the light comes on, and I have to run an affresh through it. But it keeps it clean, and no smells.

We bought the Bravo washer right before Christmas. LOVE IT! At first I thought...wow, the washer time is longer. I can fit about 2-3 times the amount of clothes in each load and the clothes come out MUCH dryer than my old model.

We have only had the dryer for about 2 weeks (not the steam dryer) but so far so good.

We just got the Maytag Steam Dryer delivered about 2 weeks ago. I love the dryer. My 14 year old Kenmore dryer was taking about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. :confused3

So far the Maytag dryer has been able to keep up with the washer. It drys clothes remarkably fast. They should be delivering the washer next Tuesday, I'll let you know what I think of that when it gets here.

Best Buy had them on sale for $799.00 a piece and Home Depot matched the price, plus gave me an extra 10% OFF. Home Depot also has a Rebate from Maytag for $100.00 if you purchase a pair and Energy Star has a $99.00 rebate for the washer. I felt like I got a pretty good deal.

The reviews for the Maytag Bravos were better than the Whirlpool Cabrio, which is why I went with those. The Maytag Bravos also have several "commercial" parts and the warranty was better than Whirlpools.

Was that price for the washer with the see-through lid or the regular lid? I don't know if that's the only difference between the two, but I was kind of leaning towards the see-through lid.

popcorn::

I'm looking at this set as well....excited to see what other DIS'ers have to say! Thanks OP for posting this question!

The pair that I got has the see through lids and doors. The glass is a smoked color. Lowe's had clear lids on display, but I don't know if those are only for display purposes or if you can get them in clear.

Including the price match, extra 10% and the rebates, I got each machine for about $620.00.

I walked by them today at Home Depot, and they were both marked $999 each. I kept walking. I've been watching Sears, Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot and our local appliance store to see who has the best deal. Haven't had a chance to check them all out yet.

I priced mine online and printed the information with the price and just brought it to Home Depot. They didn't call to see if Best Buy had them in stock or not, just did the price match and 10% right away.

When Best Buy had them on sale they were $799.00 each, I would have kept walking also at $999...

I just wanted to post a quick update to this thread. I got the matching washer finally and I am equally impressed with the washer. The clothes in the dryer are dry by the time the washer finishes, about 40 minutes. The other day I was doing laundry and I went back into the laundry room for something, and the dryer wasn't on?? I thought to myself, I must have forgot to turn the dryer on, nope, it had already finished drying!! I don't know why I didn't get new machines sooner. I love this set!!

After doing some research on new washers, I had decided to go with the Maytag Bravos :goodvibes I am waiting until 4/22 because Massachusetts is having a cash for clunkers deal for washing machines so I will get a $175 rebate :yay: So glad to hear such good reports :laundy:

We bought the Bravo washer and dryer (not the steam one) on Black Friday for $999 for the set. It was the best deal ever!!! We love them. :thumbsup2 The clothes come out of the washer almost dry. The dryer is so quick. They are a great set. I am so glad we did dot buy a front loader.

I saw these at Costco this past weekend for $799 each. The washer had the clear lid, the dryer I am not sure. Of course, the only problem with buying them at Costco is delivery. I think you would have to pick them up.

Does anyone know how these top loaders compare to front loaders with regard to energy savings...both water and electricity?

I was shopping for the Bravos last month, but they were sold out and backordered everywhere I went (Lowes, Best Buy, a couple of other places). Lowes said the wait would be 60 days.
I'm sure this depends on the area, but if you're interested in this set you might need to call around and be patient if they're not available immediately.

We just night the bravo washer yesterday to replace my 6 year old maytag neptune tl that decided to stop draining and spinning. Was told it is a computer problem, so rather than spend $400 to repair, I got a new one. Hope the bravo doesn't have as many problems as the neptune. It has already been in production longer than the neptune was, though, so I'm taking that as a good sign. It gets delivered on saturday. I hope I don't regret this purchase. I have been reading some bad reviews...
