Mayonnaise = "white death"!

Is Miracle Whip in the US the same as salad cream in the UK?

No nothing like it. Salad cream is yellowy cream in colour, has a slight mustard taste to it and is yummy on just about anything bar chocolate!! Seriously, it's lovely, as is Marmite!!

I have to confess, and had to discuss this with the white death phobic boyfriend at length, that I became a mayonnaise addict on a Magic cruise a few years back. I discovered mayonnaise on my french fries on deck and I was hooked! I ate those things with the white death, literally the "white death" because I swear my heart began to slow on this cruise because of this little addiction, everywhere and any time I could spare a moment - we even brought a plate of fries and mayo into the movies! I was OUT OF CONTROL!

Now I try to limit consumption. :worried:

I could eat mayonnaise with a spoon!!! I hate all these summer picnics where they offer ketchup & mustard and no mayo!!!!!!!

So don't tempt us! Give the recipe!!!!!!! :coffee:

My fry sauce "recipe" is mix 1/2 part ketchup with 1/2 part mayonnaise. Easy and tasty! Sometimes I get fancy and mix in a little pickle relish. ::yes::

I attempted Marmite/Vegemite while traveling once...tasted like something that should be on meat, not toast.

Hate mayo, love Miracle Whip, though I'm not sure if it's a Canadian thing or just a sweet tooth :)

Yep! I have learned to add a little vinegar, maybe a 1/4 teaspoon to say, 1/2 cup mayo (has to be best foods) and 1/2 cup ketchup. Adjust to taste. Also mixing mayo and bbq sauce is yummy to.

Count me in as a big mayo lover, but I'm curious-what is marmite?:confused3

Marmite is a yeast extract that is very strong tasting. People spread it on sandwiches, toast and even roast potatoes!!
If you PM me an address, I'll happily send you some!
It's different to Vegemite (Australian) but along the same lines. My favourite way of having it is in a toasted sandwich with cheese!! Or in a sandwich with cheese and onion crisps/chips!! Nom nom

Our salad cream is much creamier than mayo ... Mayo is gloopy, salad cream is smooth and lovely!!!
