Just catching up on my newletters from Allears.net and read the following from the "Tips of the Week" section...

Dan Garibaldi comments: Just a quick tip about the $750 gift card -- We had already booked our stay long in advance and I was able to get the card applied to our stay by calling the reservation number. Since our trip is within 10 days, I had to pay a $10 fee. They were really helpful.

Well I know there have been other posts stating you can't use it on a package since a package has to be paid in advance, and you don't get your card until check-in. But now I'm wondering.

I'm thinking that they meant they were able to get the promo applied to their stay, not the actual gift card. We went last year and got the $200 gift card with the 4/3 package. After checking in, they gave me a card, but only after I signed a form for it.

I agree with this statement. They had the PROMO applied to their ressie, and they will get the GC at check in. They already had paid in full on their package, as they state they arrive at WDW in 10 days, so there wasn't any way a $750 GC could be applied to an existing balance. The $10 paid was for the change in the reservation.
