Thanks to everyone for all the well-wishes! :goodvibes An update is coming up that will give you some more details about our weekend!

So today was a super BIG important day at our house! If you thought I was going to say it’s one week ‘til we’re at Disney, you would be partly correct. The main reason was because today was DD’s high school graduation.

We had a small, family and close friends party Saturday afternoon/evening. We used Elizabeth’s favorite colors---blue and lime green.

There were some gifts to open, but first I must confess that I’ve been keeping a DIS secret from all of you. Several months ago, I placed an order that was Disney related, but I didn’t put it in my PTR, because I wanted to keep it a surprise. (Elizabeth has been known to read the DIS!)

This is the little beauty that came in that small box.

We gave it to her at her party Saturday evening.

Sunday morning began early for us. The class and their families all gather together for worship that morning in a historic church that is part of the campus. Afterwards there were a few moments to take some pictures.

Then it was off to a catered lunch for parents and the graduate only. From there, it was straight to the auditorium for graduation.

In less than forty-five minutes, I was the parent of a high school graduate:sad1: ---who will now tell you that she is a freshman at the University of Alabama!

Now, on with the trip plans!

Our last park day will be Friday, June 1. For this day we will be heading back to the favorite---the epitome of Disney World---Magic Kingdom!

No definite plans, except to do try to do anything we haven’t done that we want to, or just hit up the old favorites. We do have a dinner reservation that evening back at the Poly, at Kona Café.

(Everyone’s favorite---the Kona cone!) :thumbsup2

We will definitely head back to MK afterwards for MSEP. This will be my first time to see it. I’m a big Spectro fan, so I’m curious to see how I enjoy MSEP. Even though we will have been in MK on Wednesday that week, we will not be able to see the parade very well because of the dessert party.

I’m sure that we will watch “Wishes” again, because that is the perfect way to end a trip to Disney. :goodvibes

MK has evening magic hours that night until 1 a.m. We will try to make it to the end, because I love being in the park so late at night. It’s so pretty all lit up, and just seems even more magical.

(Ignore the fact that this clock reads two o’clock---old picture!)

Even though we will be sad to leave, there’s always this thought to help us keep going:

What a lovely graduation party and graduation. Sounds very close knit :) Sweet family photo as well :flower3:
Best ending to a WDW vacation:love: And what a yummy dinner ;)
We'll be there this time next week
Have a wonderful week, I'm sure it will be crazy busy

The party looks like it was so much fun! Congratulations to you all and to Elizabeth!

Love your last MK day plans. . .I have NEVER seen a Kona Kone, but I think I need one now!

It's almost here!!!! :dance3:

Glad you had such a fun family weekend. Your college girl is now ready for a new and exciting adventure!

The graduation ears are great! :thumbsup2

I, too, am a Spectro fan, and I am ready for it to come back. Rumor had it that it would be back by fall. I read it somewhere about a month or so ago, but I haven't read or heard anything lately. I hope it is still true. Not to be ugly, but MSEP is just okay in my book. I like Spectro much better. ::yes::

You are right - there is something very cool about being in a Disney park late at night. The crowds thin, the lights give it a unique atmosphere, and you feel 'special' for being there. At home, I would never be out on a street at midnight or one a.m., so there is a bit of a thrill at being out that late in Disney World. ;)

Ah, what a special weekend for Elizabeth! I bet she loves saying she is a freshman at the University of Alabama. The ears are awesome!!!

Once again, congratulations to Elizabeth!!! I :lovestruc the graduation ears!!!

Sounds like a spectacular day and party.

Great plans for your last day. We had an amazing meal at Kona last summer. I love it there! Don't forget that you (or your kids) can order the juice as a drink!

Have a fantastic trip! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Congrats to your daughter on graduating! Cute mouse ears. :)

If you like Spectromagic you will like the MSEP. It's really not all that different. I know a lot of people don't care for the music though. But it's still a fun parade.

Congrats to Elizabeth!!!!! (Sorry to hear about the whole 'Bama thing though...:lmao:)

What a busy weekend, but I'm sure it was very special. I don't even want to think about my girls graduating from high school. I'm already upset that my oldest only has one more year of elementary school left.

I keep joking to my DH that I want to try to stay for EMH on June 1st, but we have an 8am breakfast at Epcot on the 2nd, so I don't think we'll make it. We are trying to decide if we want to head back to MK after Ohana or just watch Wishes from Poly. I guess it depends on how we feel.

I'm a huge Spectro fan!!! There's just something about the music that gets me all teary-eyed. We watched MSEP in September. It was nice...not my favorite, but DH thought it was better than Spectro.

My bunch (DH, too!) loves ice cream, so they're all about the Kona cone!

I, too, would never be out walking around at 1 a.m., so maybe that's part of the thrill?!?! ::yes::

Ah, what a special weekend for Elizabeth! I bet she loves saying she is a freshman at the University of Alabama. The ears are awesome!!!

Thanks, Jackie!

I think her FB info has said that she "studies at the University of Alabama" for about three months now!

Looks like a fun graduation day! Congrats!

Thank you! :)

I am looking forward to watching MSEP just so I can be able to know what it's like. However, it's hard to imagine anything being better than "On this magic night....." :goodvibes

Thanks! :) It is hard to imagine that the years go by so fast, and there they are graduating from high school and heading out to college.

I agree about the music of Spectro. I love it! :goodvibes It's just magical when you hear it start!

Now that's a song I don't mind getting stuck in my head. . .:goodvibes

Congrats to Elizabeth, looks like her graduation was lots of fun! :cool1:

Yay for MK on your last day! I've never done MK as my last park, if they had magic hours on our last night on one trip though, I definitely would, I love being there late at night too!

I love Spectro, I don't even bother with MSEP, the music is so annoying to me! If I find out they are bringing Spectro back to coincide with part of the new Fantasyland opening later this year, I will seriously push my trip back a few weeks to see it, that's how much I love Spectro!

:goodvibes It's a good one, isn't it?

Thanks, Jen! :)

I always like to do MK on my last night, since it's our favorite park. It's the chance to watch "Wishes" one last time!

So you find the music from MSEP annoying? Oh no! I'm trying to keep an open mind, but I love Spectro so much, I find it hard to imagine that anything could beat it! :thumbsup2

I will agree that the music in Spectromagic is a lot better but the parade itself is still fun. Plus, I'm pretty sure Walt Disney was involved in it, so that makes it worth seeing.

And if Spectromagic is coming back, all the more reason to see MSEP just to say you have. ;)

However, it's hard to imagine anything being better than "On this magic night....." :goodvibes

Isn't it funny how just that very beginning can make us smile so big? :)
MSEP is nothing like Spectro. It's good to get to see it, but the music will not do to you what Spectro music does to you. That's my opinion, anyway.

You've been awfully busy celebrating and all, so I don't know if you've noticed ;), but your ticker is saying....

FOUR DAYS!!!!

:cheer2: :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:
