MAYbe we should go back to Disney World-A May 2012 PTR;6/7 Link to TR-Post#592; p. 40

Your Poly trip looks like it was fantastic, you're so lucky to be staying there again! I really want to try the Tonga Toast someday, I almost did when I ate at Kona last year, but I chickened out, I was afraid I'd hate it!

Mmmm...'Ohana bread pudding! :cloud9:

Yay for the dessert party! :woohoo: My DH and I did that a couple of years ago and we loved it, I'd really like to do it again sometime! Hope you can keep the secret, that will be an awesome surprise!

:
I can't believe that glass slipper went untouched. I have read that they are soooo good. I really want to order one next trip but don't know if we will make it to one of the few restaurants that have it.

I'm pretty sure the girl was so excited to grab that diamond and then start calling everyone she knew, that she probably didn't even think about eating that dessert! :) I did notice them taking pictures before they left!

Yay for booking the dessert party! I love desserts and would really like to do this.

Everyone in my family has a sweet tooth, so I thought it would be something fun that we've never done before. Hope it's good!

I've heard nothing but good things about the food they serve and what could be better than having a fantastic view of the fireworks.

Hope you can keep it a secret and surprise everyone!:thumbsup2

I hope the reviews I've read are true, and that it's worth the time and money. I'm going to try my best to keep it a secret, though I'll probably cave and tell DH (we don't keep very many secrets from each other!) :thumbsup2

This is exciting! :cool1: I would book it for us if they also had some salty munchies or appetizer-type things. I don't know if anybody truly eats their money's worth of sweets at something like that, but I know I could only eat about 2-3 things. I can only eat a very little bit of sweet stuff at one time. If they would add in some salty things and bite-sized, non-sweet things, that would be perfect for us. Can you tell them that when you are there? ;)

I have seen pictures of the spread they put out, and it looks awesome! I would just need about three or four days to finish a plate of those luscious goodies. This will be a fun surprise for your family. :goodvibes

Everyone in my family has a sweet tooth, plus, we are eating a late breakfast at 'Ohana that morning, and having a early (5 'ish) counter service dinner, so I'm hoping we'll be hungry for some desserts by 9 p.m.

I will pass along your suggestions for the salty snacks! ;)

Get your DH to order the Tonga Toast, and you can just try his! ;)

So, you liked the dessert party? Details, please. :) You'll have to tell me all about it. Did you take any pictures and post in a previous TR?

What a great stay at the Poly. I loved the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. We received Dream FP when we visited the Imagination Pavillion on our last day.

Congrats on booking the dessert party. What a nice treat!

The Tonga toast looks so good!! I have read so many reviews that say it is delicious, but like you, I'm not that crazy about something overly sweet.

I hope y'all enjoy the Dessert Party :thumbsup2. I have thought about doing it before, but we just haven't done it yet.

I loved that promotion too.....just the thought of getting chosen to spend the night in the castle got me excited!

You're the second person in my PTR to say they won dream FP during that time. I'm starting to think we didn't score quite as big as I might have thought! ;)

Now Dana, I didn't say I don't like overly sweet stuff......I just don't like it at breakfast! I, and the rest of my family, are big sweet eaters!

I'll let you know what I think about it! :thumbsup2

I am so in! I am glad you get to stay at your favorite resort. I think you would have loved the Beach Club, but I so understand that you want to stay there!

I love the stories from your previous trips. It's so great looking back through the years!

I think you would have loved the Beach Club, but I so understand that you want to stay there!

We stayed at the Yacht Club in December 2009, and at the Beach Club in May 2010, and we enjoyed both stays. Love the central location to Epcot and DHS. :thumbsup2 But we haven't stayed at the Poly since May 2009, and when the PIN code came in my email, it was the deciding factor!

After our family’s fourth trip to Disney World, I began thinking about our next. (What DISer doesn't? ;)) During the next spring, the “Free Dining” mania hit the DIS! I got swept up in the excitement and decided we would book our next trip for Labor Day week and enjoy this free dining plan everyone was talking about.

So, it was booked---We would fly down the Sunday before Labor Day and stay the week. The kids would only miss four days of school that way. We were staying at POR for the first time. It was also Reid’s first trip to Disney World with us.

It was our first time to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern—(This was when it was still a character meal.)

IMGP0359.jpg

It was also our first time to visit during the fall and see all the seasonal decorations.

IMGP0530.jpg

IMGP0470.jpg

During this trip, we picked up a little pair of ears-

IMGP0396.jpg

And, those ears proceeded to go with us everywhere. :)

In fact, those ears have gotten packed and taken on every subsequent trip! :)

We continued our tradition of having breakfast at ‘Ohana.

During this trip, we had a first experience that we could have done without! One evening when we returned to the resort to swim, we had company in the pool with us! A SNAKE! :scared1:

We finished up our trip with a breakfast at Crystal Palace.

All too soon, it was time to return home.

NEXT UP: BACK TO THE POLY IN 8 MONTHS!

More great memories. The Halloween decorations are awesome-it was fun seeing them for the first time when we visited my sister this past October. Reid is adorable!

. . .Sigh. . .I miss LTT as a character meal . . .

This is such a cool experience, seeing how your trips have evolved! Thanks for sharing!

I think it's sweet that Reid wore his ears everywhere. Better than spending money on them, only to have it sit in the resort the whole trip. :rotfl:

Ugh, a snake?! Not something you want to see and avoid at WDW.

We were in MK on Halloween Day one year and we loved it :) Loved the decorations and the low crowds. And on our way out in the evening it was SOOO cool to see all the costumed people heading in for MNSSHP (is that right??) that night. Some of the costumes were SO amazing and they had started playing halloween music so it made it really Halloweeny. Then we went to DTD to do trick or treating :) It was great. Too bad they don't offer trick or treating anymore - that's sad :(

Reid looked SO cute in the Mickey ears!! how could he NOT wear them? lol

Snakes are NOT at ALL welcome in pools!:scared1: don't they know that?? lol. We were on the lazy river in Typhoon Lagoon one day and sure enough there was a snake slithering INTO the lazy river from the foliage off to the side and wouldn't you know our DARN TUBE we were floating in (DD and I) was headed RIGHT for the spot the snake was in!:scared1: It's SO hard to control those stupid tubes that we just bailed to avoid brushing up against the snake! And possibly having to endure a snake attack of course :scared1:;) lol. Snakes are N.A.S.T.Y!! That's all there is to it!!

Yay for booking the dessert party! I think your family will love it. We really enjoyed it when we did it! :thumbsup2

Awww, I think that is so cute that Reid has taken his ears on every trip! :cloud9:

Thanks! :)

I think the fall decorations are so pretty, too.

It looks like Reid's first trip to the World was a success! :thumbsup2

I think he had a pretty good time! :)

. . .Sigh. . .I miss LTT as a character meal . . .

We haven't gone back to LTT since then. I loved colonial Minnie--so cute!

Ugh, a snake?! Not something you want to see and avoid at WDW.

Snakes are something I'd rather not see anywhere, anytime.

I think it would be so much fun to be at MK on Halloween day. The party would be awesome. That's the only time we've been during the fall season, and we didn't go to the party. If we ever visit during that time, we will definitely make MNSSHP a priority.

Your snake story had be cracking up. :rotfl: I could just imagine myself and my kids all bailing out of the tubes to avoid a snake too!

Oh, I didn't know you had done the dessert party, Courtney! Which trip was that? You'll have to give me some more details other than you enjoyed it! Got any pictures on a previous TR I can see?

I hope everyone likes it. :)

When was this trip? We were there the end of September first of October in 2009. That is the trip we cut short one day because Dallas had gotten Swine flu :scared1:.
