MAYbe we should go back to Disney World-A May 2012 PTR;6/7 Link to TR-Post#592; p. 40

New to your report! Congrats on the Poly! How awesome! It has always been my dream to stay there!

:welcome: Glad to have you reading along!

I dreamed about the Poly for the first six years after we had started visiting DW. Once we stayed there, it didn't disappoint! I'm so excited that we're going to stay there again! :)

Looking at your ticker, do our trips overlap?

So happy for you that you got the Poly....it is beautiful!

I think so! It is definitely my happy place when I'm at Disney! :yay:

Oh, how awesome! I would love to stay at the Poly someday. I would've been happy with Beach Club, too, though -- it's one of my favorites.

Both are great---both have their advantages. But it comes down to that the Poly is in my heart. I can't explain it---the smell, the sounds.....:cloud9:

:worship: Having a little resort envy over here :worship:.......lol. I am so glad that you were persistant with the pin code, and was able to get it to work at the Poly; I know how much you love it there!

They might.... We'll be there May 22nd - May 29th. What are your dates again?

Oh, no resort envy ! I'm a little envious that you get to go as often as you do! ;)

I do love the Poly! :cloud9: Out of all the resorts we've stayed at, it holds a special place in my heart.

Ahh that's awesome! I posted on the other thread but I guess this means our babies are growing up!!!!!! Quite an exciting time for them and a time of mixed emotions for us!

Yes, I guess it does! This is our first to leave and go away to college, so I have a LOT of mixed emotions! :) :sad1: :upsidedow

So pretty! Yay for a Poly stay! :dance3:

We almost spent the night there when it took the 'Ohana server so long to sort out our $1200 tab the night we ate there with DIS friends. Officially, though, we have not stayed there, but we always visit, and we eat there often. ::yes::

$1200 tab? What'd you eat?

Where to eat? Along with where to stay, this is the most obsessed part of my Disney vacation! I must spend endless hours looking at the menus, reading the dining reviews, and then studying the menus again!

For this trip, we will not be using the DDP. We used it, and loved it, during our last trip, and I swore I’d never go without it again. However, with the rise in cost, it was just not cost efficient for our family of four adults and one child. The cost for our family was going to be $1345 for six nights. I have religiously gone through menus, and “guess”timated our costs for each meal, and I believe we can do it on about $1000. So, we’re going for it OOP for this trip.

So, that brings about the question….Where to eat?? :confused3

With this being my kids tenth visit to DW, we’ve tried almost every restaurant that we’ve ever wanted to. I asked everyone if they had any requests, and the most popular choices were chosen

We check in on Sunday, May 27, and will be going to Animal Kingdom. That evening, we plan to stay at the Poly, swim, and watch “Wishes” from the beach. OR, we may head over to DTD for the evening. Either way, we’ll grab counter service for lunch and dinner.

Monday, May 28 ---Teppan Edo (dinner)

As requested by Kevin, Elizabeth, and Reid, we will be returning to Teppan Edo. We ate there for the first time during our last trip (May, 2010), and everyone enjoyed it!

Tuesday, May 29
---Sci-Fi Diner (lunch)

The girls and I ate here during our spring break trip, March 2010, but Kevin and Reid were not with us for that trip. I thought the guys would enjoy the atmosphere and the milkshakes!

Wednesday, May 30---‘Ohana (breakfast)

This is Rachel’s request. She absolutely loves the juice here—I must admit I like it pretty much too!

AND.....

Wishes Dessert Party. I'm so excited to try this on our first MK night. I am not telling anyone in my family about this until that very night!

Thursday, May 31

This day is a flexible day for us---still undecided about which park we’re heading to, so I haven’t made any ADRs for this day. I am tentatively thinking about heading back to the Studios, so I’m considering 50’s Prime Time. We’ve eaten here several times, and the kids enjoy it. PLUS, they have sweet tea! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Friday, June 1---Kona Café (dinner)

This is everyone’s favorite! It was absolutely our favorite meal during our last trip!

So, there we have it! I may move a few things around, but I think these are the main meals we’ll be having on this trip.

Yay for the Poly!!! I completely understand why you love it so much. After staying there for our honeymoon, it is our favorite, too!

Great ADR choices! You're got quite a few of our favorites in there! :thumbsup2

I know you'd understand my love affair with the Poly! :lovestruc From the looks of your new ticker, seems as if you couldn't resist it either! :thumbsup2

GREAT dining plans!

We haven't been in several years, but Teppan Edo was one of our favorites. We recently had dinner at a local hibachi restaurant and the boys loved it, so we may have to put this in our rotation next time.

Sci Fi for lunch is a must!

We have never done the 'Ohana breakfast, but it looks like fun.

I noticed you have Kona for dinner one night- you can get the juice at that meal, too. My son did when we ate there last summer. I think it is the same juice.

Your ADRs look great. We have free QS dining for our trip, but I have booked some TS places. Now, since I'm in limbo with dates, I may have to go back and change everything AGAIN :headache: :guilty: :rolleyes1.

$1200 tab? What'd you eat?

We had 20 something dinners. Believe me, our guys ate $1200 in shrimp, steak, chicken, and pork!

I bet Reid will really enjoy this.

We try to add a new restaurant or two each trip, but it's hard not to want to go back to all the old tried and true ones, too. If we did that, though, we'd be doing nothing but eating the entire time!

Great ADR's! We have a lot of the same taste in restaurants:rotfl2: My daughter would agree with yours on the juice at O'Hana's... she couldn't get enough of it!

We tried Teppan Edo for the first time during our last trip in 2010, and my family really enjoyed it. True, it's not very different from any hibachi-style restaurant we have in our own city, but being at Disney just makes everything better. :) Plus, it's a big pro to sit down to dinner, and have your kids entertained while our dinner's being prepared!

I didn't know that about the juice at Kona! Good to know! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Dana. How many times have you had to change your ADRs?

:laughing:So, you're saying that Disney lost money on y'all's meal?

You know, when we ate there with my sister and her kids during our March 2010 trip, I remember saying that Reid would love Sci-Fi----Hamburgers, milkshakes, and zoning out to the tv! :rotfl:

Great ADR's! We have a lot of the same taste in restaurants:rotfl2: My daughter would agree with yours on the juice at O'Hana's... she couldn't get enough of it!

Love  Love the juice at 'Ohana!

I have to say, it was like looking at my PTR with your ADRs. I love all your restaurant choices!
Kona Cafe is a favorite with my family, and Sci Fi Dine-In's milkshakes are delicious! They're so thick you can barely use a straw. Mmm, seeing that picture makes me a little sad to be skipping it.

And I can see why you are paying for the meals OOP; the new cost of the different dining plans are a little ridiculous. And with larger parties it just makes sense to not use it. :confused3

Really? I'm sure I read your ADRs in your PTR, but I'll have to check them out again! :thumbsup2 Those milkshakes are yummy!

The dining plan has gotten so expensive...I hope I'm making the right decision. I'm going to try to be diligent about keeping up with receipts so I can see how we do money wise with our meals and snacks. Hopefully, we'll come out cheaper than we would have paid for the DDP.
