Maybe I'll do a trip report? Don't read! I haven't decided! NEW for 1/31! Read it!

I voted for napping at Walmart.

Here's a lil tip for y'all.

Downplay the "Gators. FUN!" thingie. If y'all decide to go to the Gatorland Park.

Next. With the sleeping child.

Capish?!

Cheers, Mel.

Aww! I love sleeping Jeanie-Gators Fun!

Be still my heart!
My second favorite Canadian posted on my trip report!
(Sorry, Mel. After meeting Nabbers, she became my favorite Canadian. Cuz she's just the bestest. Wait. I like her kids too. But you come before them. Just after Nab. And you're even before Sarah Maclachlan. And trust me, you're WAAAAY before Celine. So all in all, second favorite is not half bad.)

hedy - I wish I had a video of her talking! She's just the cutest! Except when she's being a brat. But a quick time out usually solves that.

tinking - The park with no sleep really wasn't that bad. I think it evened things out. Usually on my first day in the parks, I run around like crazy. So I was too tired to do that, but I still had plenty of excitement in me, so it was a nice balance.

marita - let me know when you talk to your bonnet creek guy again - I really want to know the rules on whether the meetings are mandatory. We're planning on going back again in May for 4 or 5 days and I really do not want to sit through another presentation if we're only going to be there for a short time.
unless they give us more money.
then it might be worth it.

nab - no, Jeanie was pretty worn out too (as you can see from the napping).
she got to run around the hotel/condo/whatever you call it while we unpacked, so that got most of her energy out for a few hours.

utah - Thanks for noticing the nemo skirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must've taken that picture the next day because I know she still had the mickey top on. :confused3
And I wonder if I handled things with as much grace as I think I did.
maybe we should ask Tammy.
unless she says I was a witch.
then we'll know she's lying.

Celery was not and is not a witch!!! That ECV thingie became the baine of our existence. It's been my experience (and I do have a bit more than Cel does) if the person using them would just let the people caring for them handle the loading. Patricia thought she needed to help load the thingie in the car...Not a good idea...but anyway...

And for the record...driving the ECV straight in does make it easier to drive back out STRAIGHT.

Thanks Celery it was great to meet you too.

Funny thing is I wouldn't have found you without finding Mel's trip report and moving with her to the other threads on the CB.

Can't say I would know how to drive one of those things myself. I loved meeting your mom too. She didn't run me down or run into anything when I saw her.

So how long did you stay at the park?

Tammy thanks for the update, hope you are pain free real soon.

/
Jeannie is so cute! She's all wiped out from listening to y'all cackle for a million hours, poor lil' dear. ;)

Did you pee a little that Mel posted on your trippie, Celery????

You've arrived! Just don't "9-out" the Buzz Lightyear ride or she'll full-on hate you. Them Canadians are competitive. Nab!

I did not pee a little!

I did bounce and get all flustered though.

Tammy, so sorry the surgery was not going well. Hope you feel better soon!

OK, how did I miss that you updated yesterday, Cel?? I thought I checked over here.

We need a TR update signal for our thread or something!

Methinks Mel needs to update her siggie now that they've changed the rules

Hey there, Cel! You know I read the arrival installment at work a looonnnng time ago and I guess I forgot to reply when I got home.

Your place at Bonnet Creek looks really nice! I like!

As for this installment, I had a good laugh at your mom's expense! No offense, Celery's mom!

And Jeanie with the Gator...so cute. Do you think I can teach Emily the gator fun thing? She's still afraid of hellavators and she's 14!

OK....more please........popcorn::

I was going to reply to everyone, but I can't think of anything witty to say.
So.
Umm.

Thanks for reading! I really appreciate it!
I find myself working on my trip report when I'm depressed. Cuz I can pretend to not be here! Ha.
Work sucks.
But anyway.
Thanks again for reading and for replying. It means a lot to me.
And now, the next installment!!!
The one where we actually might ride a ride!
Let’s go to the Land! Woo!
I  Living with the land. It’s one of those must do’s every year. I didn’t even mind too terribly bad that the ag nerd was absent (sorry Twinkie! You can still have the dream job of Behind the Seeds tour guide!). Since my mom likes it and Tammy likes it, it was the perfect first choice.
Plus it’s not scary or anything, so if Jeanie was awake by then, it wouldn’t be too bad for her to wake up to.
And if she slept through it, she wouldn’t be missing a lot anyway.
So we meandered towards the Land.
And that’s when I saw it.
The brand new Character Connection! Oh my goodness! It’s beautimous! And you can see all the characters through the window!
Of course, Jeanie couldn’t see them cuz her eyelids were in the way.
But that’s ok.
Me and Tammy didn’t get a bit teary eyed. :sad1:
Ha.
We’re getting really sentimental in our old age.
Anyway, we promised ourselves that we would take her there on our way out of the park.
About this time, my mother and I worked on our signals for direction.
I would use my two finger Disney point to point her in the right direction (I love using that. Hehehehe. Two weeks ago I had to direct traffic at my church. I was amazed because a few people actually knew what I was doing.). When we were approaching a turn, I would yell ahead “Mother! Left!”
The first few times, she would immediately turn left.
Then I explained to her that I meant left at the next opening – not left towards a wall. I was trying to give her ample time to turn, not expecting her to play bumper cars with random Disney architecture.

On our way to the land we also encountered our first VERY RUDE GUEST (VRG)!
VRGs think they own the parks (duh. It’s mine. I said so.)
VRGs do not care that you paid as much as they did to be in the park.
This is THE VRG vacation and nothing and no one is going to get in their way.
Including middle aged ladies on ECVs.
My poor mother tried so hard throughout the vacation to be mindful of other guests. She would sit and wait for people to pass.
And wait.
And wait.
I’d try to explain to her that although September is not that crowded at the world, she is NEVER going to find a completely empty spot – so she might as well get on out there in traffic.
When I was particularly grumpy at some VRG, I’d yell ahead to her “Just ram him! He’s being rude!”
Hehehehe.
Anyway, this particular VRG near the land walked directly into the path of my mother as she tried her best to slam on her “brake” (which didn’t really exist on hers – she’d have to turn the thing off real quick) then had the AUDACITY (I just love that word!) to turn around and glare at her!
My mother has a tendency to say whatever she’s thinking, so in a very hurt voice she said “I tried my best to stop in time!” and I told her in my slightly louder than normal voice “It’s ok. You did nothing wrong. He should watch where he’s going.” I sure hope he heard me.
But since other people in the parks are invisible and mute to VRGs, I doubt he did.

So we stroller parked and I got the sleeping Jeanie out to go visit the land. By the time we made it down to the ride, she was pretty much awake.
Probably because the “gator” ride took like umpteen billion hours.
At any rate, she really liked the ride. I was a tiny bit worried what she would think of the fer real animatronic gators, but they didn’t phase her.
She really liked the farm scene and the live fish at the end.
After we were done, it was time for a bathroom break.
Ok.
Time out.
Disney World is like my comfort zone. I pretty much know where everything is. Occasionally I still get confused at MGM around the Star Tours/Muppetvision/Streets of America conflagaration. And there are one or two parts of Animal Kingdom I had not ventured near until this trip, but other than that, I know the place like the back of my hand.
Picture-1.jpg

What’s that?!?!?! Where did it come from?!?!?!

Heheheh.
Anyway.
So I know where the most convenient bathrooms are.
So after the ride, we need a bathroom break.
No problem.
Follow me.
It’s over by the Soarin’ entrance – right behind the desk for the behind the seeds tour.
Right here.
Where this wall is?!?!?!
What?
Could it be that the scary incident reported in another trip report caused this bathroom to be out of commission? :scared:
(I would, if I could find it, point you in the direction of that oh so happy trip report episode. I’m pretty sure it was Mel HappyHaunt. Although it could have been ZZUB. Or even possibly Mrs. Mr. the King. They all have a tendency to talk about quite inappropriate bathroom incidents. At any rate, this one involved the bathroom near Soarin’ and either a number 3 or a number 4.)
I asked the nearest Cast Member where the bathroom was.
He said “Upstairs near the elevator.”
“Wait! Wasn’t there one here before?”
“I’m not sure. But there is one upstairs near the elevator.”
I felt like cowering in a corner. My nice, safe, comfortable place was different! Ack!
And then I got over it.
And measured Jeanie to see if she was tall enough to ride Soarin’.
Even though I knew she wasn’t.
So we went back on the elevator (“Gator fun!”) with my mother and her ECV (*beepbeepbeep*) and had a potty break (FLUSH!).
After having “the talk” with Tammy ONCE AGAIN.
No.
We are not going to see Circle of Life.
When will you ever believe me?
I KNOW you haven’t seen it.
TRUST ME!
It is boring.
I will only go if I or Jeanie needs a nap.
And she just woke up from one and I have had no sleep so a nap isn’t going to cut it anyway.
This is our first day.
Not even our first FULL day.
There will be plenty of time for you to watch that boring movie in our million day vacation (yeah right!).
We are going to see Nemo. (“Nemo!!!”)
After we parked the stroller in the next stroller parking conflaberation (wait til the next day and I’ll show you how smart I was and how it even got me a magical moment!) and looked at the Mine! Seagulls, we went in the bane of Nebo’s existence – the queue for Nemo!!!!
Oh the horror!:scared1:
I couldn’t help but think of him as I twisted back and forth in the near dark.
Hehehehe.
I pictured him bouncing off each post like a pinball. :rotfl2:
While my mother maneuvered those hairpin turns oh so deftly in her super sleek machine.
Man.
This episode is LONG!
We’re up to 1180 words so far. Wait. 1188.
I think I’ll stop here.
(1195)

be right back....got me a first spot :thumbsup2

What?

When we were approaching a turn, I would yell ahead “Mother! Left!”
The first few times, she would immediately turn left.
Then I explained to her that I meant left at the next opening – not left towards a wall. I was trying to give her ample time to turn, not expecting her to play bumper cars with random Disney architecture.
:lmao: I used to yell, "GO!!!!" to my mom when she wasn't paying attention while stopped at a traffic light. But it was still red.... :lmao:

Which explains why Karma gave me the 4 children I have. :upsidedow

Great job Celery! More pho-toes!

Great update, Cel:thumbsup2

I have many times thought of getting an ECV, cause walking long distances makes my legs hurt. But I askeered of hitting people in the crowds :scared1: So I end up usually not going at all. I can empathize with your mom.

Cel, did you get a new ring????? If so, I LOVE it!

If not, I must have just been unobservant at WDW?

Utah you are supposed to go back and edit that first post after the new installment post...

I have wanted to stop by for ages, or 35 days, anyway. I will be back, but I am way behind on everything so it will be another 35 days until I am caught up.

Wait.

I'll be in WDW around then.

It might take me a tad longer to catch up.

Or else I will just jump in.

Eyes are closing as I type.

Nighters.

-Goldfish Colors AKA HaleyB :upsidedow

Loved this installment, Cel!

VRG, Gator fun, beepbeepbeep, trust me it's boring!

Is that your ring? the fire ring? I like! :cool2:

But.

Do you have any pictures from your trip to Disney World?

WAIT! I know that bathroom by Soarin! Was it not working? We used it about 3 times. It was weird...there was a piece of fabric on the wall near the door. WTH?
