Maybe I should bid for the first ride on Top Thrill Dragster/updated 3/25: donations

You can bid on the first ride of Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster. I might just do it because it'll be my 100th coaster. I heard that CP's charity first ride auctions don't usually go above $300. I guess I will have to hang out around intersections and collect money.

I'm not sure if I want to do this or wait until Riddle Con. Which Ohioans want to meet up on May 4 to watch history in the making? I wonder if CP's PR will make it a big deal?

well, shoot you get park admission for the day. barry, considering that this is for a charity, why don't we do a DIS fund raiser and send you money for this.

That's right, Barry, I said NUTS! This is the scariest coaster I've ever seen. To go on this you have to be looney-toons, crazy, certifiable, out of your mind, NUTS!!!!

But I'd love to watch you do it!

I don't know if the moderators or Pete will let us do this, but if we all send in $1 each, I'm sure we can raise enough $. I may even have a meet on 5/2 somewhere in Ohio. I'm also thinking of doing SFWOA on 5/3 since that seems to be one of the only parks open in Ohio during that time.

I was thinking about this, so why don't we have a DIS fundraiser? If you want to make a donation, you can make it via Paypal or send the $ to my home address. My Paypal account is the same as my e-mail account, bfhom@prodigy.net

Please e-mail or PM me on where to send the $ via snail mail.

Those who make a donation will receive a "100 roller coasters" video edited by me! If there's an onride photo, I'll buy it and send a copy on CD.

The donations are only for the first ride itself. It will not cover airfare, hotels, beer, etc.

Also, I think Paypal takes 2%-5% of every transaction, so factor that into your donations via Paypal.

I'm going to contact the sponsoring radio stations to see if we can get on the air.

Have they selected a charity for the auction?

What happens to the excess donations collected or all donations if it isn't enough to win? How about a secondary charity selected? Maybe Make A Wish or Give Kids the World?

I think this could work just thinking of some of the details

The website says that the charity is the American Red Cross. Believe me, I will make it one way or the other. I'll work some overtime as an exotic dancer.
