Been holding out - looking for good airfare as we are pretty set on our dates in October. I looked today and all 5 of us can fly from Seattle to Orlando for $1544 on Delta. All the other airlines are over $2K for all of us. Maybe this is a sign that it is time to pull the trigger!

My mantra is 'decide what you are ready to pay, and when you see fares that come close to that, book'. Sometimes we see good fares but figure we can 'do better', so we wait. And then the fares go up. Yeah, sometimes they go down, but it's much more common to see them go up. Then, once you buy, quit looking at airfares.

hey I'm planning a trip in sept/oct. when are you going? my fares was 1950 for 6 peoples. I been watching fares for over 3 months. this is lowest I can find.. you might also try airtran. it's slightly cheaper depend on the days that you go.

Thanks to Spirits strike, I booked my airfare with Continental EWR to MCO in Sept.

I was waiting for a $9 sale with Spirit but after this weekends continued strike, made me just go ahead and book. The fares are just going up by the week and I dont want to be upset if I wait too long!!

$315 each to fly from about one corner of the continental United to about the diagonally opposite corner? Yep.

That would be a great price for SEA-DTW. It's an even better one for SEA-MCO. Take it.

Yep.

I paid $800 to go from SFO to Washington DC and back when I was in 8th grade (I'm 40 now, so we're talking early 80s)...that's what air travel cost then. It's been shocking to have it so *low*, compared to what inflation etc should have done to it...

Do I want it ot be 800 plus inflation? No, but my brain has to remind me of that every time I think that airfare is high...might be high for my wallet, but it's not as high as it could be.

Alaska isn't comparable, by the way???
