Thinking about staying here..what are your thoughts on the hotel?
as anyone stayed here?

Are the rooms all cabins?
if so is it safe so sleep in a cabin ?

any help would be grateful

Hi, if you stay at Davy Crockett then you will need a car - there are no shuttle busses.

The cabins are like lodges/caravans and I believe perfectly safe. Although i've never stayed, many dissers have - have a look at the hotel sticky thread and you will see some reviews.

We have stayed here 3 times.

Yes, you do need a car. It is not walking distance, it takes a good 10-15 minutes in the car to get from DCR to the Parks. And as already said, there are no shuttle busses, but, when we there in August, we did see a LOT of Taxis dropping people off at their cabins. But no idea how much that would cost each way. You would have to factor in that for each way, each day, and see if it would be cost effective.

As for the VEA, on their website, they do not have the DCR on the schedule.

In the 3 times we've stayed, we have felt safe in the cabins.

Friends stayed at DCR without a car quite a few years ago. I think taxi ranged from €15-20 for the journey. Therefore would be twice that each day, without the convenience of a car.
