My mother who is going to have a double knee replacement has her own ECV called a "Jazzy Scooter." Is she able to bring her own scooter into the parks or does she HAVE to rent one. What are the rules? We are clueless about this for our trip in January. Thanks!

She can bring her own. We rented one from an off-site company when we went with my father, who had just had a hip replacement.

Make sure you bring her handicap tag as the handicap parking areas are patrolled by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and if you don't have one and park in normal parking the ECV will not be able to go on a tram.

She may bring her scooter! If you are flying notify the airline now, that she is using a scooter with a dry gel cell battery. She can bring it all the way to the gate.
In WDW depending on where you will be staying, WDW transportaion can usually move her wherever you will be going! Almost every bus now has a lift in the back of the bus, that will fit a jazzy. Most boats will also fit the jazzy.
If you have any more questions, please ask or personal message me, I'd be glad to offer any info., if I can help?
Good Luck & have a great time on your trip!

we rented an off site scooter for my partner when she had knee surgery. We were able to go into the parks, use the tram... She was even able to go on any ride she wanted. Of course she was able to transfer on her own, and walk a very short distance.... Have fun. On the plus side, she got moved to the front of the line often (and all of us traveling with her got moved up front too) :thumbsup2

Just a note about being moved to front. That is more the exception than the rule; so if you do get it in places, it's nice, but it's not to be expected.
Also, Disney considers a wheelchair/scooter party to be a total of 6 people. So, if there are more than that in your group, you may not be able to stay together.

Most attractions have lines that are wheelchair and scooter accessible and in those lines you will be waiting with everyone else. Some of the lines at MK are not accessible because that is the oldest park and was built before accessible lines were common. For those, there may be only one way in for people using wheelchairs and scooters - and it may not be the usual entrance.
For some of the shows, they have limited numbers of spots for scooters and wheelchairs and may 'separate out' of bring them to the front of the line - not as a special access, but to make sure they don't bring more people with wheelchairs or scooters into the show than there are room for.
