So hows the Maya Grill? Got two seperate reservations there for next months trip at a prime time for dinner so I am a little worried that it may not be that great. So lets hear it, from all those who have been.

Havent done dinner, but did breakfast a few years back and it was ok. Nice setting i thought.

We had dinner there a couple of weeks ago. We had really good service and the menu was great. The kid's menu especially is wonderful - lots of choices for the entrees and appetizers for them.

The only thing I was a bit up in the air about - they cook over a fire on oak planks. I had a filet (cooked perfectly and fork tender), but it had a very smokey taste. My DH had the Mixed Grill - ribs, filet, and Tilapia and said the ribs were more smokey tasting than anything he had ever eaten. His filet was about the same as mine - just a bit too smokey. The fish was also cooked that way, but tasted great...probably similar to cooking salmon on a cedar plank. He said he would try it again, but order only fish the next time.

I think it could have been great, and there are probably some that really like that smokey flavor. It was just a bit overwhelming for us.

We ate there last year and it was my daughter's favorite restaurant. The food was real good and I liked the atmosphere. Our server wasn't my favorite but overall I would eat there again.

I had breakfast there a few years back - it was good, but nothing special. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but there was nothing all that unique. To put it in my perspective, I'm willing to go out of my way to get to POR Riverside to have sweet potato pancakes or to Poly for Tonga Toast, but I don't think I'd go too far out of my way to get to Maya Grill, but if I was at CSR, I'd definitely eat there.

Thank you, I am going to cancel!!!!
