DH family just decided tonight that we all want to go to WDW in May. Thats within the 7 month window. We will call in the morning and see whats available, but what are our chances of getting a spot? Is Mid-late May a popular DVC time?? Ah!!!

You should be fine. I booked BCV about a week ago for the beginning of May. Really you should almost have your pick of resort depending on how long you are going and room type. Good Luck.

I would imagine you should have no problem with bigger resorts like SSR and OKW. We were there in May last year, it was early May and during the Flower and Garden and I was able to get into VWL. Overall, I thought WDW had a light crowd despite Flower and Garden, so you may be in luck. Hope it works out for you!

I just booked a one bdrm for four nights mid May at BCV earlier this week. I was a little surprised there was availability, but, happy to get it. However, that said, I do think the 1 bdrms are a bit easier to get than studios or 2 bdrms.........don't know why, but, it seems that way to me.

You may have now freed up a studio for someone that would have otherwise been a part of a 2 bedroom.

May is a shoulder season month, probably the 4th slowest month of the year. At the 7 month window you should have no problem getting most room types.

If you use the points chart as a guide, all the lower point times and all the highest point times are the hardest to get. Figure school breaks as hard times to get (except for summer). Holidays are hard to get. From Oct to mid-Jan is harder to get because of Food & Wine Festival, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Marathon.

From Thanksgiving week through New Years is probably the most difficult time to book. If you wanted to book something in that period, you should try to book it right at 11 months -- especially if you want something special, like a certain location, view, GV, etc.

ETA -- watch in late Jan, early Feb for the December waitlist threads!

Wilderness Lodge Villas....a studio and 2 bdrm for May 24-29th..(thats even Memorial Day)! Really excited to take DH family!
