Completely grossed out and feeling guilty to boot tonight -- removed a fully engorged tick from DS6's hair tonight AND after spending 30 minutes researching the appearance of engorged ticks (not a search for the faint hearted, let me tell you), I think it was a deer tick. Fingers crossed that either I'm wrong or he doesn't end up with Lyme! How on earth did I miss it when I combed his hair this morning? He says it's been there for a couple of days (why oh why didn't he tell me?!).

Thank you for letting me confess my bad parenting here.
wlake, stop feeling guilty. We do the best we can at any one minute. I could confess....1 DD dislocated arm not noticed when it happened....only when she woke up from a nap, another DD broken arm....not noticed when it happened....only when she woke up, same kid bit by friend, not immediately noticed....sigh....

Here's hoping that it turns out okay with no after affects.

Big budget busters - sorta kinda. My husband's Macpro (the $7k machine) died. It's couple years old so we decided to upgrade our old Macbook pro instead since they're nearly as powerful now as the macpro was. $3000 :( At least it's a business expense and since we actually work for our own company rather than being self employed it is truly not our personal expense. Still though...
And I just bought our return airline tickets for our trip to WDW this fall. I had already bought our flight down. It was a good price (however it's still over twice what we paid last year) on the day we wanted (horrible time slot though). Cause it's Disney related is doesn't count, right?? lol

Hi everyone! Just an update: I decided to take off May. It's just too busy with work, kids, end of school, etc. to worry about not going to the store on certain days. So far, I've had 2 no-buy days, but I haven't bought that much besides food. I'll be around and reading the updates every now and then. Haven't decided about June yet... I just needed a money break for now. :)

Congrats, RonNMel on your destination wedding. Will pray for your mom.

Also, hope all the moms had a nice Mother's Day. And keep up the good work!

Oh, and my Hershey Park tickets came... all that soda was money well spent.

I have been doing the $400 for the month as a whole, and I'm going to try something different this month just to see how it works. I'm going to try a limit of $40 for each 3 day period. $400/30 days is the same amount as $40/3 days over the month, but mentally it's a very different approach. I only have $40 to spend, but I only have to make it last 3 days! I have no idea if this will work or not, but it's worth a try.

I'm tracking groceries, eating out, and miscellaneous only in this top part.

CASH:
1: $0!

2: $0!
3: $23.50 Winn-Dixie
4: $0!
Subtotal: $23.50
$40-$23.50= $16.50 left

5: $11.27 McDonald's
6: $0!
7: $0!

8: $84.45 Walgreens, Starbucks, McDonald's, Rouses
9: $0!
10: $0!

11: $5.81 McDonald's

Subtotal: $5.81
$40-$5.81=$34.19

CASH $0 Days: 7

GAS:
2 - $21.00 (3.68/gallon)
8 - $13.75 ($3.59/gallon)
Gas Subtotal: $34.75

TOTAL: $159.78

About the gas....they are saying they should go down about 50 cents over the next few weeks IF the refineries don't flood.

I went to Target today to return something and I walked through the entire store and bought NOTHING! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the encouragement! I think what really got to me was how disgusting it was and that it was on my child. He's too young for the preventative antibiotics (I knew that, but called the dr. today anyway), so we're playing the watch and wait scenario out. I've had Lyme a couple of times, and it's no fun!
