Wow, I cannot believe that we are already into mid-May. Where the heck has the time gone???!!!!
WELCOME to Randy and Dawn. Glad to have you!!
Steve - Congrats on your PR and getting your results updated.
Todd - I agree with the others; this sounds like it was pretty scary. I am glad to hear you are on the mend. Good luck with the recovery and getting back into the swing of things.
Suzanne - Glad to hear the medal issues were cleared up. Shame it wasn't a more spectacular ending.
Maura - Happy Birthday to your son!!!! It has been unseasonably cold here too. We had several days this week where we did not even reach 50.
I had a great time at WDW. I did not get any official runs in, but got tons of walking. My feet felt much better overall than the last couple of trips. I really only had pain towards the end of the day and only once was it in the "very painful" realm.
I had my first real run outside yesterday. (I am not counting that impromptu 5K last month). I decided it was time to stop putting it off. There is a trail system that runs through Madison. A good portion of it is through protected land. I picked a section that seemed easy to get to and headed out there. My goal is to do this at least 2 times a week.
I am really happy overall with it. I completed my full workout and even ran an extra 2 minutes. It was cold and drizzling, but I warmed up really quickly. I probably overdid it a bit though. The scenery was so pretty and peaceful that I wanted to see the whole segment. I should have turned around halfway through the workout, but I kept going. I got to the end of the segment close to the end of my workout and realized I was going to have to walk the whole way back...in the rain.

I still really enjoyed it. My overall pace was 20:00, but that included the walk back. My workout pace was 18:50. This is a lot slower than what I have been doing on the treadmill, but I forced myself to take it easy. I am glad I did. My thighs are killing me today!! Owie!
I did so well with adding in the extra 2 min that I am going to do the same on saturday and skip ahead a week in my program.

So, this week I am counting as 12/18 and next week will be my repeat week, also at 12/18.
