I was undecided between may or february, but after reading replies on here, decided for may. However Im now considering may or october.
May because ites sooner!, nice weather, low crowds, am thinking first 2 weeks of may.
But october, last 2 weeks,as it still has nice weather, low crowds?, can anyone confirm, but most important I can combine with half term and my dd only needs one week or so off school. But do lots of people go for half term, hence my questions on crowds.
I have no problem with her having 2 weeks off school, but they might!:rolleyes1
TIA

Forgot to say Im thinking 2014. Anyone know how the prices compare as well.
That could be a deciding factor.

Hi,

I will vote for October as we always go then, taking in the school half term. Weather has always been good, still warm enough for pool and water parks. Plus you can see mickeys not so scary Halloween party. Crowds are low also.

In May you will have lighter nights and possibly longer park hours.

I would go for May :goodvibes

We went in October for the first time last year (8th-26th) and I was surprised at the crowd levels tbh, it seemed busier than our two previous May trips. Loved seeing all the Halloween decor and going to MNSSHP but didn't like being restricted by the party nights - we love going to MK in the evenings but with three party nights a week night and earlier closing at the other parks we were limited with were we could go.

Even with the temptation of the food & wine festival at Epcot we are looking at May for our next visit, it's a lovely time to go :)

I'd go in October. It's actually less busy then than in May, and cheaper. The weather is amazing, where May is really hot. Plus, we love MNSSHP. You'll really only notice it being busy at Epcot because of the Food & Wine Festival. The buildings weren't busy, nor the rides. It was just the general area walking around the world showcase that was because of all the F&W stands.

I'd pick May:)
While I love going in October (we get a 2 week school break) I always preferred May when that was an option - mainly because the weather was usually warmer and drier.

I am definately in the October camp. We have been both May and October and preferred October. Fantastic weather, no humidity,no rain lower crowd levels and you have the MNSSHP and all the fall/halloween decorations. :thumbsup2 The trick here is to do the MK during the day the MNSSHP is on as people tend to flock to the other parks those days.

We did enjoy May as well but just prefer the end of summer instead of the start of summer.

Love late October , crowds are moderate IMHO. Great weather, Food &Wine festival.

I think lots of people DO go from UK, so direct flights will be more expensive - if that is a factor for you. Less of an issue if you are prepared to go indirect though.

I absolutely love October, my fave of all the months I have been there! We usually go every October but decided to go in May this year instead (could get good flights using virgin miles).

Love the Halloween decorations, love the weather, the food&wine festival at Epcot :lovestruc

So for now, October is my number 1 month but I haven't been in May yet so this could all change......

Thanks for all your replies. I have decided to stick with original plan, for our once in a lifetime trip, as it was slightly cheaper in may.
However for our second, once in a lifetime trip,;) I am definately going october!

I like how you've already penciled in your second once in a lifetime trip :)

We've been in May and have been there in late September/early October. We much preferred Sept/October time, especially with MK all decked out for Halloween and loved Epcot's Food and Wine festival. DBF agreed to go back next year providing we go during Food and Wine!!! :goodvibes

Mmm, Food and Wine Festival is definitely a great reason to go in Ocober! We really enjoyed sampling the different foods and having our snack credits to spend on tasting was a bonus :rotfl: We also enjoyed the 'eat to the beat' concerts.

I still think Epcot as a park looks lovelier in May though during the flower festival :goodvibes

Epcot does look beautiful during the Flower and Garden festival. I think the addition of some food and wine booths at F & G will make it even more of a hit :-)

Must admit I've been looking at all the offerings of food for the F&G this year and picking out which we fancy spending credits on. And listening to Peter Noone and Hermans Hermits, daughter not so keen on that :rotfl:
