we would love to be in wdw for one of the kids b'days, we have 3 so can go either middle may, middle june or end oct, would prefer to go when the parks are less crowded as the kids will be 4,6,8. and the weather not to hot/humid/rainy.

any help thanks

Personally I would favour October over the other times just because of all the halloween stuff that goes on then and the Food and Wine festival being on at EPCOT :) However May would come in a close second.

Obviously once you have been for one of your childrens birthdays the others will all be jealous though so you will have to go back for them as well ;)

Both are good for the weather and crowds but Oct wins it for me as you have the food and wine festival at EPCOT, and the halloween horror nights at Universal, both are excellent.
Saying that- im going in May this year :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

October is when we are planning to go so I'd plump for this month :thumbsup2

I am hoping to go next year in october.

Crowds and weather should be similar in May or October, guess overall I agree that October is probably the better option (unless you cannot wait that long) as it might be slightly cooler.

Avoid June, far too hot. Only mad people like me go in the summer months, school holidays in August etc

another vote for october, we had fab weather and of course MNSSHP is an option :)

I too have kids 8,6,4 birthdays May and October. We are going in October this year for a change ,just because of the school holidays more than anything. When there was just one at school I didn't mind but don't want to take 2 out. We haven't been In October for years pre kids days and I remember the weather being pleasant.
By choice we usually go in May. However the last time we went then the weather was unusually warm and the kids struggled with the heat for quite a few days. I love the heat but even I felt it was a bit too hot. There wasn't the same enjoyment . Having said that the parks weren't overly busy. We have been in June also and wouuldn't go again because of the heat. We could cope but the kids couldn't.
I think you will find most people will veer towards October because of the weather and Halloween.

May! The flower and Garden festival.. also i prefer the weather in May as its less humid usually (but very hot)

Although the halloween stuff is fun too.. but I would advise taking your kids of that age to the Universal fright nights.. they are scary!
MNSSHP is pretty fun though!

End of October was a great time to go with low crowds and warm weather although technically speaking you are still within hurricane season although they don't get them too often at this time . I went in the middle of May many years ago and I seem to remember the weather being nice and hot and the crowds being manageable. We are returning in May again this year and are hoping for the same again. I think either of these 2 months would be a good choice :)

thanks again, now it comes down to the costing if its cheaper in may than we will pump for that, otherwise oct, and it does give us more time to save up.

We've mostly been Sept/Oct so obviously a bit biased towards Oct but some friends of ours went in May & had a great time & good weather.Notice nobody is recommending the June option! Been there ,done that & never again!!! Weather fine but CROWDED!!
SD :firefight

looks like june is out then, now the costings is the same for middle may/middle oct/beginning nov, now worried about hurricanes in nov. omg why is this such a dillemma for me???

Jane hurricane season is over by November - we have been November 4th for 2 weeks and then again for 3 weeks. The first two weeks were great - weather between 20 and 27 - 1 day of rain - no crowds. Avoid the week leading up to thanksgiving it was hell!

We're booked again for this year flying out same time. Considering getting APs though so we're looking at May or October 07... After feedback for you I fancy October... I want to go to the halloween parties, and would also like to space the trips out as much as possible.

:)

Another vote for October. We have been the last 2 years at this time of year. In 2004, the weather was fantastic - mid 80's and just a spot of rain one day. Last year, however we ran into Hurricane Wilma at the beginning of our stay (only one week last year) - heavy rain for a day or so but then it brought in cool weather behind it - cloudless skies but you definitely needed warmer clothes - had to buy my DD a tracksuit. I would go again at this time of year - we dress up for the Halloween party and we enjoy the Food and Wine Festival.
