So, is anyone planning on checking out the Magic Fountain in Barcelona on the evening of May 14th? I read on the May 5th thread that it's really fabulous, but I'm a bit nervous to head out at night by myself... Of course, that presumes that I'll still be conscious at 9pm that night....

Where is this Magic Fountain? I assume it is a water show? Is it like the Bellagio's in Las Vegas?

It does not say anything about a specific terminal. It states, "On embarkation day and based on the flight information you have provided to us, a Disney Cruise Line representative will meet you upon exiting baggage claim and customs and will provide further instructions at that time."

So here's our latest dilemma... Should we hire a guide at Pompeii? Our private tour company can arrange one for our group for 100 euros. For those who are also using a private guide that day, are you hiring a guide at Pompeii or will you wing it? I know Rick Steves has some tours in his guidebooks and a podcast but we want to appreciate the ruins and not walk around aimlessly. Jeff- when you went in 2007 did you have a guide and would you recommend one?

Thoughts? Help us decide!

Last time I was there, our group had a private guide. It was well worth it. He was great and added that extra flair. We have a private tour this time and we are getting the private guide. the cost is split between 8 people and come out to only afew dollars more per person over the audio tape tour.

This one was #18 of 2,500+ restaurants in Barcelona on TripAdvisor and on my list as a candidate. Another you might consider is Cafe De L'Academia, which is about 2 blocks from the Jaume metro stop (Carrer dels Lledo 1).

moneyhappy's response is for the cruise terminal. I read that you were asking for which airport terminal DCL would pick you up from. There are 4 terminals: 1, 2A, 2B and 2C. From what was posted, it sounds like Disney will pick people up from whatever terminal you arrived. So, if your flight came in at Terminal 2B, you need to go back to Terminal 2B to catch the Disney transfer.

It's on Montjuic. Yes, but more low tech. It was built back in the 1920's from what I read but it still attracts crowds and is listed on TripAdvisor as one of the top attractions by guests.

We are using limo in Rome as well and claudio was highly recommended by my ta and friends of ours who used them previously.

We used Limo in Rome in 2007 for our Rome Tour and our driver (Pepe) was excellent. We got the guide (Robert) in the Vatican which was extra but well worth it.

I too want to do the Magic Fountain at Montjunic. We fly in that morning at 8:30 - hope to leave my carry-on suitcase at Hotel Jazz and then head up the mountain to Montserrat for the rest of the day. Hubby doesn't think he is up to it so I'm leaving him behind. I thought I'd do the fountain show at 9 on my way down the mountain. I will feel a lot safer if there are others there too. I absolutely love Barcelona but when we were there in 07 after the TA we did see a lot of pick-pockets. Believe me everything that is important goes in my hidden pouch and ? . The metro and metro stations really worried me so traveling in numbers is the best way especially at night. Of course this is 2010 and it might be different. All I put in my purse is lipstick,sun screen, and a bottle of water.

DW getting back from Orlando tomorrow night, me I have been in New Ulm, Fergus Falls, Brainerd and headed to Olivia and Lake of the Woods, just doesn't seem fair. Guess I will have to have a better time on the cruise then her to make up for it.

Does anyone remember if there is an electrical socket alongside the bed so the DDs hair dryers will reach to the full length mirror ?

Changing subjects, I'd ordered two FE from "gradysmom" on ebay back on 4/16 and they still haven't arrived. Dummy me didn't notice she has "up to 20 business days" before she even ships them out. That blows. I sent her an email...maybe she'll have pity on me.

Formal/Semi Formal nights.....

When we called Disney, they said there are TWO semi-formal and ONE formal, BUT when I looked at the DISboard blog Navigator pictures - it only shows ONE semi and ONE formal?

I'm planning on renting a tux and I could wear it both nights (they give you two shirts).... Means not packing a suit

So - will ours be the same you think? Is it different by what seating order you have?

Negative. There is an outlet by the desk and one back behind the tv. I'd suggest you bring a power strip/extension cord, especially with 3 women in the room.

Maybe if you email her, she will rush them this week. Ordered ours on March 30th and received the April 24th, but had to return one of them to be fixed on April 26 (misspelled my parents last name). She said I will have it back by the end of the week.

Hi Everyone
We had our preCruise meeting tonight with my Aunt and Uncle. Lots of laughs and "I can't believe it's almost here" talk AND we got to see the FE that my Aunt made us
We laughed that our formal clothes will have to stay in Florida so we can bring our Fe Gifts and were betting on how much laundry we (well the Ladies) will have to do
Perhaps we can arrange laundry parties

Having fun now reading the blogs of the current cruise ---wow---soon that will be us !!!

We are leaving on the 13th as well, however out of Newark We have some excursions planned 3 private tours. I am actually disappointed in myself because I have been slacking real bad in the planning department for this cruise. I just have no time for anything anymore...not enough hours in a day! I have been to Italy and France before but it was many years ago.

10 more days until we leave!!!
