We too are arriving early and staying after the cruise. We are at the Hilton Diagonal and will be doing the Hop on Hop Off blue route on Friday, the red route upon return.

Does anyone else fly out of Atlanta ? We fly from Minneapolis to Atlanta then directly into Barcelona. It seems like there are quite a few flying from the south up to New York then to the Netherlands or France.

Our trip starts in 4 weeks and a day.

I'm flying through Atlanta on the 13th. Flight 114 at 5:50 pm.

Will probably be more than friendly by then, have my last staff meeting on Monday and complete a multi day hearing on Tuesday, can spend the night on the plane writing my decision.

What part of Tennessee are you from ? I lived in Germantown and Memphis years ago.

Wellp, I got my ABD pre-trip package today! But, honestly? Not as nice as the packages I've gotten in the past, I have to admit. I hate to say it, but I was a little underwhelmed. :confused3 It was a 6-page itinerary, that *did*, at least, list which days my onboard activities are on (but no times!), and told me when & where to meet up with the Adventure Guides on embarkation day. And a gold-on-black square ABD keychain. But it was missing a lot of the stuff we've gotten previously, like a packing suggestion list, a countdown calendar, the daily themes, more details about the destinations and a backpack. I'm trying to look on the positive side. :goodvibes I did get *something*, so I really AM doing this tour!

I'm just going to have to come up with my own count-down calendar.... wish I was better at graphics! :confused3

Glad you finally got the package. Sorry it isn't as nice as you hoped. :( Auntylynne from the TA thread has some fantastic graphics on their website. I asked her if I could use one and she said that they were free for anyone....she had found them all over the web.

Is anyone arriving in Barcelona early? My family plans on getting to Barcelona 2.5 days early and we are starting to plan precruise events. We are staying in a hotel near Montjuice (sp). We get in early in the morning on Thursday and thought we would get to the hotel, kick back and tour the spanish village and the fountains that night. The next day we thought we would do the hop on hop off to visit the cathedrals and Gaudi and Picaso sites. Finally on Saturday we thought we would check in to the ship and then go to the aquarium with the kids. Just curious what other people were doing if getting there early. Barcelona is apparently one of the most beautiful ports and I would hate to miss anything there. Im starting to get extremely excited about the trip!
I'm flying in early on the 14th. I cannot sleep on planes, but I'm hoping to stay awake most of the day, or else the jetlag will be deadly! I'm probably doing the HOHO bus; I really want to see the Sagrada Familia, and park Guell. I'd like to see the fountains, too, but we'll see if I can stay awake that late! I'm staying at the Eurostars Grand Marina at the port, right near the foot of Las Ramblas.

I'm flying from Ohio to JFK, then to Barcelona via Madrid.

It's getting closer & closer! :yay:

We are flying from Johnson City, Tennessee to Atlanta then directly to Barcelona but we leave on Wednesday the 12th. We are trying to start this whole vacation thing a day earlier than everyone else.

I'm afraid of sounding like an ingrate or something... :guilty: But it was almost like they said "Whoops! We need to send them *something* because we got calls about it!" Oh, well. I'll get over it! :) I got a great upgrade, so I can't really complain. I just really, REALLY hope we're still having the themed days & the pins that go with the themes... If we didn't get those, *THAT* would be really sad!

I'll have to check out the TA thread. Maybe there's something I can lay a calendar over... Thanks for the suggestion!

We get to Barcelona on May 12th. We are staying at the Europark hotel. We plan on seeing the main sights. We would also like to take a day and go to Montserrat.

Christy and I will also be on Delta flight # 114 out of Atlanta on May 13 at 5:50 PM. Sounds like a popular flight.

We are using Disney transportation and staying the night of the 14th at the Hilton Diagonal Mar.

We are planning to meet up with sayhello to probably do the hop on hop off bus, but we don't have our plans firmed up yet. Maybe we can get a bigger group together. As sayhello said, the idea is to try and stay awake all day to help get used to the time change, that nine hour time difference is a killer.

Sayhello, Christy and I agree with you, we were definitely underwhelmed with the package we received from ABD today, and with the two of us, you would have throught they would have at least sent two key chains, but there was only one, at least you don't have to fight over the key chain :-).

An additional benefit from ABD that I noticed on reading it is that we meet with the ABD guides on boarding and they will hold our carryon baggage for us until our staterooms our ready, so we can go off and explore the ship and have lunch without having to drag it along.

Well the Eastbounders are doing really good, 68 degrees with 1 meter seas, not bad. Currently a 22 mile an hour wind that is decreasing as they head east.

We are lso arriving early Thursday morning and staying at Casa de Billy near Plaza Espanya ( Montjuic area). So far we are planning on doing the Segway tour that afternoon and Montserrat at some point on Friday and hopefully the Aquarium on Saturday. Now we just have to go back and fill in the blanks. Of course I want to do it all.:dance3:

If I haven't said it before - thanks to all who have put in xtra time and effort for all of us. This is falling together so nicely. Now the hard part is not to talk "vacation" 24/7 at work. But how do we contain the excitement.

I agree, my co-workers are starting to mock me. But I don't care ;)

They only sent you ONE keychain???? Now *that* is ridiculous! :sad2:

I noticed that too, about dropping the carryons off with the Guides. That's a really cool benefit! And the welcome reception is at 3:30pm. I assume we'll do introductions and socialize until we have to get ready for the muster drill...

OMG. Just a hair over a month to go!!!
