So has anyone heard anything from the Novotel in Barcelona? Did they open as expected? I still have my ressie...guess I could email them but I'm lazy. :rotfl2:

Jill

I emailed them yesterday asking if they have opened. No response yet.

Aloha,

I threw together a google map for those wanting to walk Rome. The total is 5 miles and reality is it will be closer to 7 when you are done I swear. I have chosen again to leave off Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. They could be added easy enough it would add another mile at least to the trip. Walking time is 1 hr 38 compared to 51 minutes by car. So you lose a little time but you experience the real Rome. Or so they say. My family is vegetarian thus the choice of restaurant at stop D. Lunch time will be around the Pantheon so you can search for a restaurant online near there or just wait and see what is available when you get hungry. It is quite easy to take the metro from the Coloseum to Termini station and that will save those that are tired (my family) 1.2 miles of walking at the end of day.

Link to map is: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?f=d&...1.893397,12.484846&spn=0.020381,0.037336&z=14

Finally made it to Orlando. :drive:

The traffic on I-75 was horrible...it seems like everyone was headed to Florida for Easter weekend. :scared1:

The crawl would be a stateroom crawl...simply an opportunity for others to check out in person the different types of staterooms on the ship.

While I was on I-4 I got a call from Melissa, who is the Palo coordinator for the private room that I'd faxed our request to. She wanted to let me know she'd received it (cool), wanted to confirm we understood that they only have one seating per Sea Day for brunch so each of our 3 Groups would be on separate days (understood), that anyone that currently has a Palo brunch reservation would forfeit that reservation if/when our Group request is granted (understood), and finally that I should expect to hear back from her on April 15th on our request.

And welcome to the cruise Kim! :welcome:

Thanks Jeff for the updates!!

Jeff & Jane, when you get a chance, can you update the roll call? My DH checked out what I've listed and told me that I've made a mistake. Apparently we are celebrating 6 year and not 5 year anniversary.. :headache: :rotfl::laughing::rotfl: I guess I can't do math in my head. Ha ha. Also, we are early seating.

We are interested in Rome on our own by train.
If we are meeting at 7:30 am in front of Lumiere's, which train do you think we can take: 7:59 "or" 8:41?
Ciao.

Ooo! Have a great trip! I'd like to know if it's possible to walk from the ship to the Aquarium, since we're going to be in port until so late in Barcelona. Or is there an easy way to get there from the ship. Stores near the terminal for any last minute, forgotten items?

Thanks! Looking forward to meeting you in May, too!

Nice to see a couple of new people joining the thread.:welcome:

I am off shopping on Monday with Carl, hopefully to get some bits and pieces for the Cruise (We both need a few things) any excuse ;)
I was lucky enough to be given some lovely Clothes for my Birthday yesterday, so I will have lots of new things to pack. :cool1:

Packing is always something that I cant wait to do, because it means the Cruise will be getting very close . :cool1::banana::banana:
How about the rest of you 'Do you like packing ? and 'How early to you pack before your Holiday' ?

My guess is those that are meeting at 7:30 and want to walk quickly directly to train station could very well catch the 7:59. Then there will be some of us whipped from the prior long day in Naples that will struggle to make it by 7:45 and will be happy to snoop around the newstand and port area and walk leisurely to catch the 8:41.

In our case my son or I or both will go to newstand and buy our familys BIRG tickets and the wife and daughter will probably start towards the train station. Once we have the tickets we will head for train station and validate our tickets in the yellow machine and be ready for the 8:41. They could surprise me but I want to wait till later in the day to get my travel whip out .

Ebony... I have e-mailed you re: lanyards & am more than happy to contibute via paypal

We are also planning to do Rome on our own via train & are interested in travelling from the Port with others on this thread

Have read up on how to do it and it seems fairly straightforward but safety in numbers and all that!

I am off work next week as we close down over Easter & am so tempted to start packing so theres not much to do nearer th time (Am working all day on 14 May & we fly at 7.15am on 15th May (I can almost feel the stress coming over me now just thinking about it ha!)

Hope everyone is enjoying Easter and just think 6weeks today.........

Jan

We are currently on a little vacation right now and I packed my clothes and my daughters clothes about a week before we were scheduled to leave. The only things I had left to pack yesterday before leaving was our toiletries and some jewelry. I get so excited that I just can't wait and pack waaaaayyy to early. LOL And, when we get back next week from this vacation, I will go ahead and start packing for the cruise, right after I get the laundry done, so I will be packed about 3 weeks before it's time to leave. I know, I'm hopeless.

Oh I sent you an email regarding our lanyards, thanks so much for coordinating this.

Hello all! My fiance Ricky (32) and I (24) will be on the Disney cruise for our honeymoon, and we have just booked some private tours in Naples and Rome, and there are openings in both! Here's a short description of each. You can email us at flyguy181@ hotmail.com if you're interested in more information.

1) Tour in Naples (5 seats available): Private driving tour with Luisa of Sorrento Silver Star. The tour is 9 hours long and includes a private tour in Pompeii as well as an extensive driving tour along the Amalfi Coast, visiting Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, and then ending in Sorrento. They give us an hour to explore the Sorrento area at the end, and then help us to get on the ferry from Sorrento back to Naples. The cost for the tour is 500 euros for up to 7 people (we have 5 seats left), so the final cost would depend on the number of people sharing. The tour is 9 hours and it starts at 8:30am (they pick us up at the port). The ferry ride from Sorrento back to Naples is approximately 30 minutes (that's the estimate they gave us). That would mean we'd back at the port somewhere between 6:00 and 6:30 pm, depending on the ferry schedules.

2) Tours in Rome (6 spots open): Private walking tours with Jason of Walks of Italy. Our first open tour (6 spots still available) is a walking tour including the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Mamertine Prison, and hopefully also the Pantheon. It's a Christian focus tour, and this portion of the tour is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, starting at 9:30am at the Victor Emanuele Monument in Rome, and extending until approximately 1:00 or 1:30pm. The cost of the tour is charged on a per-hour basis, and depends on how many people are spitting the cost. The cost will be no more than 46 euros per person for the morning tour not including entrance fees(the cost will go down the more people that join). Our second tour is with the same guide, Jason, and is a 3 hour (2:00-5:00pm) open group tour of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel that we are joining following our private morning tour. It's open to anyone, any number, and the cost is around 40 euros each, including the cost of the entrance fee. For a combined tour of both the morning and afternoon, the cost will be no more than 86 euros plus entrance fees.

Let us know if you're interested in joining us!

Blessings, Ashley and Ricky

Happy Belated Birthday! How nice of people to give you Cruise Clothes! Very thoughtful of them! :yay:

I really cannot start packing early. If I do, I have a tendency to do that "Oh, I might need this. Just one more T-Shirt. Oh, maybe I'll need that too..." And I end up overpacking half of my house. So I'll start "staging" my packing the beginning of May (placing items I *know* I'll want to take or don't want to forget in piles near the suitcase). But the start of the actual packing will probably wait until the weekend before the cruise. It's the only safe option! :lmao:

Sayhello,

I will let you know through a PM as soon as we get back to Lloret De Mar on Wednesday.

Cindy
Thanks, Cindy!
