For all of the US cruisers there are some upcoming Samantha Brown shows on the Travel Channel featuring Barcelona, London, and Tuscany.

Passport to Europe: Barcelona, Spain 3/22 10:30 AM MST
Passport to Great Weekends: Tuscany 3/31 10:30 AM MST
Passport to Great Weekends: London 3/24 at 10:00 AM MST

I have my Tivo set up to record any of her shows so if I hear of any others relative to our cruise I will let you know.

Thank goodness you survived!!!

My MU Tigers beat Clemson this afternoon and we play West Virginia this weekend. Go TIGERS!!!!

Yep, that's the game we watched. That Clemson coach that's never won in the NCAA tournament continued his streak. MU has a heck of a defense.

I feel the same way. I just booked on 16 March, and found this thread today. I read to about page 15, and now I'm ready from the end back, just a little overwelmed by everything.

:scared1:

Welcome!! I am on page 30 now, hee hee. I am a bit slow, but with work etc, I can only squeeze in an hour or so everyday to catch up. At the rate that I am going, I should be all caught up by the cruise :rotfl2:

Just a bit of an update on our progress... I've booked hotel for 3 nights prior to the cruise. Have excursions to look into now. I am a bit anxious about our flight though. We are flying on British Air. Have my fingers crossed that the strike will not impact us. I didn't get travel insurance, and am thinking that we probably should, but not sure if it will cover BA, since it seems some policy would not.

I realized that we've been added to the roster, but here are our info:

Me (30s)
DH (40s)
DD (11 months)
Celebrating 5 years anniversary on 5/15!!!
First Disney cruise!!!

Another thing is that this is the first time we are traveling with a baby, and not sure how she will deal with long flight/cruise etc. Not to mention how to plan for excursion with a little one.

Questions:
1. any pointers for those of you have have experience in traveling with an 1 year old?
2. I read on one of the page that you can ship a box to the ship prior to the cruise. Does anyone know if that applies to a cruise leaving out of Spain? I am thinking about either ordering diapers from the company that can deliver to Disney cruise or ship the box myself. I would prefer not to have diapers take up room in our suitcases, since we will need to either bring babyfood or look for babyfood when we are in Barcelona
3. I read that you can leave baby in the nursery while in excursion. Have any one of you done that? I am not sure how my DD will handle being in the nursery, given that she is a stay at home baby.

Thanks!

:goodvibes With an only child, I find that I'm always helping her make/meet new friends. My experience has been that she's more willing to go to the kids club (or even look forward to it) if her "friend" is meeting her there. Hopefully, they will hit it off!

Skylar isn't exactly an only child, she has two brothers but they are in their 20s. So she's like an only child. She is very easy going and has no problem making friends. She likes everyone, I'm sure they will have a good time. Sent you a PM about getting them in touch with each other first. Let me know what you think.

3 hours....you got away lightly :rotfl2:
Whew! Just got back from the dreaded (by me) "cruise clothes" shopping trip.

My son and I were able to get what we needed in less than an hour...we waited for my my wife and daughter for 3 hours. Thank goodness for the bar and the basketball tournament on TV. :cool1:

I don't have kids so can't answer from experience but can let you know what i've read:

2) - shipping ahead. There's no address details for Spain that i've found yet. I'd suggest calling DCL and asking for the address. I guess It may not be possible because the terminal in Spain doesn't belong to DCL whereas it is DCL owned in Port Canaverel. But i'd definately recommend calling DCL to find out for sure.

3) The nursery for very little ones seems to work well for some people. You do have to book the slots, so if you want to get a slot coinciding with an excursion make sure you book it as early as possible. There'll be more info on the nursery on the main board (try the FAQ and search for threads on flounders)

Working 60 plus hours at work right now and having a hard time keeping up!

Welcome to all of our new shipmates...this is a warm & welcoming bunch of sailors.

Also, flying BA and the threat of a strike is not good news. I knew I should have purchased the insurance at time of purchase but at least we're flying in a day early.

Have updated the roll call and FE lists on page 1. Welcome new cruisers and FE participants.

If i've got anything wrong or missed anyone out, pleas let me know. The info comes thick and fast and its easy to miss single posts when the thread increases by 2 or 3 pages a day.

We are on the same boat, flying British Airways with no travel insurance. Don't bother with travel insurance now, it won't cover any disruption or cancellation associated with BA flights.

Jill - Glad the Tigers did well. Hope the Big 12 keeps doing a good job - hard to believe the Big East have lost 4 games in the first round. We are living basketball at our house!

You are right. Colorado weather is pretty brutal one day and beautiful the next. #1 son (39) just called an hour ago - said he was in his first car wreck after working on the mountain the last 18 years. He hit black ice coming off of 470. He said he hit the retaining wall and spun around twice - thank heavens he wasn't hurt. He called Geico immediately and they told him to take the car in Wednesday. Everyne is so far behind because of all the weather related accidents that they can't fix it till then. At least it is still drivable. He was coming off an 11 hour shift at the Mardi Gras in Blachawk so I'm sure his response time wasn't the best in trying to avoid the wall. Sure wish he'd move to Florida!!!!:cool2::cool2:

Hi all

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW POSTERS :cool1::cheer2::):cool1::cheer2::)

We are also booked with British Airways from London to Barcelona rtn.
Due to be flying in the day before. We are lucky enough to have an annual Insurance policy started last December '09.
Fingers crossed that the strike end quickly for everyone.

How many of you guys are bringing laptops or netbooks with you? I am thinking about purchasing a cheap netbook for the trip to store my photos in, but just dont know yet.

My DH is thinking about getting a netbook, but I would rather spend the money to get an iPad or bring our MacBook. For us, it doesn't make sense to buy a netbook just to travel, but then again, I am an Apple fan, so really want to get an iPad.

I take my netbook everywhere my camera goes. I am paranoid about a memory card getting damaged so back up my photos every night onto the netbook. ANy interent access from it is then a bonus. :surfweb:

In 94 (so back in the days of film cameras) i was at WDW and i went on Big Thunder while my family waited on a bench outside the entrance. When i met them at the exit i discovered that my dad had accidentally left my camera on the bench they had been sitting on. :scared1: By the time we got back there to look for it it was gone, and no luck at lost/found. I was gutted, as it had my pictures from the Atlantis shuttle launch we'd seen a couple of days before. I mean seeing the shuttle go up was a once in a lifetime thing and my pictures were gone.

Ever since i've been paranoid about keeping my camera, used film and nowadays memory cards safe and intact (and in the case of memory cards backed up).

To this day I still remind/tease my dad of this (even though i have forgiven him), and you know i still feel that little gut wrench when i think about losing those pictures. :sad2:

Yikes!! That's horrible. I guess there goes my ideal of getting more memory cards!! Maybe I should think about a netbook!!

We live in La Louvière, close from the center. :upsidedow

That's so cool that we live so close together. Are you military or are you from Belgium? We love the traveling that we get to do by living here. We've only been here 15 months, but we have been all over the place since we got here.

Thank goodness he wasn't hurt! They shut down I-70 at Morrison yesterday for several hours due to all the accidents and I-25 was closed at Larkspur until this morning because of an accident. The sun came out in full force today and the snow is melting rapidly. It is supposed to be mid 50's tomorrow and 60 by Monday. Still ready for the cruise!
