Hi everone two more newbies here.
We are doing the Transatlantic in Sept 2010 but couldnt resisit the prices for this med cruise.
As we live in the U.K. we have cheaper flight prices as well.
Look forward to speaking to you all in the coming weeks.

Hello Everyone !!!

We just booked this Cruise---can't wait until May !!!

We are Castaway Club Members (only 1 other Disney Cruise ) and are very excited as we will be celebrating our 25th Anniversary on this Cruise---oh and maybe my Birthday too (Birthday is in Nov.).

Traveling will be my Husband Walter and Myself !!!
Don't have a Cabin yet as we have booked a Guar----but even a lifeboat would be fine ----LOL !!!!!!

Glad to meet you all----anxious to start planning now !!!

Just noticed while updating the cruisers list - seems like most of us are adults on this cruise - i know its not school vacation time but normally you'd still see more kids.

Maybe we can organise some adult Dis get-togethers in the pub.

I am so STOKED about this trip and I am freaking out about the excursions!

Anyone need to split some private tours for a couple of the ports? Please let us know as we are looking for people to split the cost with!!

Jane----"adult" Pub meets sound great----I am also wondering how many children will be on board since it's not school Holiday time.

We are now trying to decide how many days prior to sailing that we want to fly over to Spain----haven't visited that area before so we are planning to sightsee some !!!!!

We are going up to WDW Sunday evening ----staying for 3 nights ---gotta see the Christmas decorations (my favorite time of year there )---oh and Mickey too !!!!!!

We go down on Wed for 3 nights! Like you xmas is our favorite time as well!

It's a nice part of the world. Barcelona itself is a vibrant and fun but quite a historic city. If you go south along the coast there's some nice rocky coastline and beaches, plus mountains. North of Barcelona along the coast is more tacky as its where some of the "cheap" resorts are. Though there are still some really nice places to visit that direction too, just tends to be more downmarket for hotels.

We're staying an extra 5 nights after the cruise and planning on going southwards away from barcelona. (It so happens that there's a UK bank holiday the monday after the cruise so we can fly home on the monday and get 5 full nights after the cruise. (Like 2 vacations in one, cruise and nearly a week in spain)

We're heading to DLR Paris for a weekend break on the last weekend before xmas. Flying out early on hte 19th and back late on the 20th. It'll be crazy busy and we won't get on many rides, but it'll be really nice to see the xmas decs and shows.

I am stoked to come go to Europe and especially can't wait to go visit the Vatican (my masters is in religion). This will be my fourth disney cruise and 3rd going solo. My family doesn't like to travel and I have no significant other so I'm left to travel on my own. I look forward to hearing from you and can't wait to see you in May.

Hopefully we'll all start getting a bit more chatty, especially as paid in full date comes round and excursion booking dates start approaching.

You'll love the vatican - it's a beautiful place. Rome itslef is also beautiful.

It's just a shame that the port is so far away from Rome, so its a long day and you don't get as much time in Rome as it deserves.

We haven't decided what we're doing yet. As I've been to many of the ports before on a cruise,we'll prob do more stuff like mooching round the ports. We do have the advantage of being able to get to may of the places for long weekends from the uk.

I know we'll get the train ourselves from Villefranche to Monte Carlo (the train station is like 5 mins walk from the port, and the train journey is about 30 mins - will only cost a few dollars each too) Monte carlo itself is somewhere that is good to walk around too.

I've read that it is likely to be the formula 1 motor-racing the weekend before we go to monte carlo so there'll still be lots of the temporary stands and race stuff still hanging around.

Some of you have suggested a meeting place, such as one of the pubs or lounges. Our favorite, and a great place to meet, is Diversions on Deck 3 forward on the starboard side of the ship. Hopefully Rudolfo, our favorite bartender, will be there. We met there every night before dinner with some of our friends back in March on the Magic on a 7 day Western cruise.

Exciting that we are getting more people on the site--May 15 is not that far away and I think everyone is starting to make their daily plans for the ports. Still need to get our flights booked, hoping prices will come down after the first of the year

I'm still not 100% sure we can go yet (should know by end of the year) but if we do we would definately split some tours with you guys. (No kids and we will be 32 and 28 yrs old at time of cruise) They are quite spendy and it would be nice to be able to split, and have other people going. Which ones are you guys thinking of doing???

I actually got an email back from a tour company this AM that was listed on one of the Med threads. His name is Jack. He Listed the following

Min Full Day in Naples 1-4 people is 450 Euro

Included are Fuel Surcharge Tolls and Parking

NOT included are entrance Fees, Lunch and Optional Pompeii's tour guide

He said that he can also organize excursions in Rome & Florence. $50 more Euro's for the mileage. I don't know if it's pp I am going to get clarification.

He answered me personally which I like so I feel really good about possibly using him. I am also going t clarify deposit cost and how much notice does he need is we went from 4 to 6 people.
