May I please vent...about my MOTHER!!!

Ok, now we are very close. And, now more so since my Dad passed away. Well, about a week ago I made plane ressies for our trip in September and the cheapest fare was 137 both ways. Ok, but I wanted to at least book it so if it came down we'd be all set.

Ok, today I log on and the fare is 59 both ways

I change the whole thing get my credit of $300 for a future trip, again I have a year to book it and can fly anywhere next year.

I call her and tell her and she says, and I quote, "Well, it's really not $59, it $250." Ok, Mom, how do you figure? Well, she says that since it's still on my CC, it's $250. MOM, we got the flights for 59 and I can go see Aunt Cookie or go to WDW next year. I'm sure I'll take a trip somewhere at some point next year. Her..."Yes, but it's NOT $59."



And, this woman is going to be riding in the front with me when we go to Maine on Thursday...Lady, can't you just be glad we got that fare and not rain on my parade???

LOL! She is looking at it like, it is not a discount if you don't get cash back.

I can see her point. If you use the credit, sure you got a deal. But I have gotten airline credits, and we don't fly very often, so I have to book a trip to use it, when I never would of gone, spending more money for hotel, spending money, ect. I'd prefer to get the cash back.

But in your case...BONUS.

You'll be fine on both trips--just ignore the piddly stuff. This is the only way I can get through a weekend with MY mom.

I just got the same fare to go visit my mom. So I told her we were coming, and her first response was, "Why?"

I see her point, as I argue with the people at the video store who tell me I can get FREE movies for $9.99 a month!

BUT, tell her that even if this flight was $250, which isn't horrible, you get a FREE flight next year.

Oh my gosh, its like talking to my mother in law. I feel your pain. Grit your teeth and I hope you have a great time!

I finally got my airfare booked at $175 round trip which is wonderful in my mind coming outa MI!!! She is convinced we are getting ripped off b/c to her airfare round trip, non- stop should never be more than $100. I love her dearly but this has been one very long and irritating trip plan for me. They dont understand how much things cost now days. She hasnt flown in 17 years or made a hotel reservation at a tourist destination. People value things differently and in the future I will simply give out dates I am at WDW and others can plan their own trip (including ADRS!!!!!!) if they wish to vacation with us there.
