Hi

We have always traveled in March so no codes/AP rates. We're thinking of switching to May next year. Anyone know historically what the rates are at the AS, CSR or CR that time of year with AP or a code rate?? I know there is never a guarantee just curious :)

We stayed at POR the last week in May (arriving the Saturday before Memorial Day),
I was not able to get an AP rate at ASMo or POR.
ASMo was going to cost me around $94 a night, including tax. (Which really disappointed me considering I had paid $55 a night including tax in January!)
I knew the nightly rate would be higher, but I wasn't expecting almost double.
AP rates weren't available, but a code (that anyone could use) with very good mod rates was.
I ended up with POR for $104.34 a night (including tax.) I could have gotten any mod for that amount.

Hi Luv2Roam!

Was the AP rate sold out for AsMo or was it not offered with a discount? Were the value resorts not discounted at all? How about CSR? Thanks!

I don't recall if it was sold out or just not offered. I made the ressies the end of January/first of February. I don't recall the exact wording. Either way it meant I couldn't get it. ;)
I could have had CSR and frankly wish I had chosen either of the other mods over POR. I wanted to try something new, and was asked and had to make a decision then and there. And I have read SO many good things about POR....

We got discounts the last week of May in 1999, 2000 and 2001. The key to getting discounts at almost any time unless occupancy is extremely low is to be patient and flexible. The earliest we've ever booked a discounted room for May was March; lately with occupancy being do down, though, discounts have been out earlier. We had AP rates one year, a summer special one year, and an upsell the other. I always consider our reservations subject to cancellation if something better comes along right up until five days before check-in.

We'll probably go that week next year, and I've not even started to think about booking. I realize not everyone can "plan" that way, though.

We had CSR the first week in May 2002 for $94 a night with a code. I think the AP for that time was $98 a night.

We have received discounts in May for the past two years. This past May we had Carribean Beach for Memorial Day at $94 per night, the Poly for $260 per night for Mother's Day weekend, and the All Star Music for yet another weekend for $77 per night. The previous year was about the same.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll book a value with DC discount now and then wait and hope and rebook with a code if one comes out :)
