May Exercise Challenge- 38,344 minutes!!!

Hmmm... I had to take another day off the 30 Day Shred. I had every intention of doing it today but my wrists are still killing me! I tried to take a small pot off the stove and I dropped it because my wrists gave out. Yikes. Back at it tomorrow no matter what, I have to build these babies up!

Today I did...

45 minutes recumbent bike
50 minutes yoga (hoping that some of the wrist involving but still gentle yoga moves like downward dog etc. will help my wrists!)

Will be walking A LOT tomorrow night at my local Relay for Life! Last year I walked about 15 miles! I'll be listening to podcasts, music, audiobooks and reading and watching Glee! And also chatting with some wonderful people!

Just wanted to mention how MOTIVATING this thread is for me!!!! I look forward to working out and getting home to update my minutes as soon as possible. I can't belive how much this "challenge" means to me. It is great to be around others that are doing similar things to me...I just love it here!!! :grouphug:

This morning I did 45 minutes on the wt machines and 50 minutes cardio. The bad news is, I gained 7 pounds!!!!:faint: I know I said I don't weigh myself, but I was feeling really fat and decided to see where I stood. This is why I don't weigh very often because it makes me so frustrated to be going backward. :sad2: But this time I'm NOT going to let it get me down. I'm doing the work, I'm watching what I eat for the most part and it is what it is. I won't stop working hard or give up. Not this time! I've got you guys to help get me through it, so I'm good to go!:thumbsup2

I am going through this as well, watching the scale go up notwithstanding my attentive eating and vigorous workouts. The reality is, though, that my clothes are fitting very differently, my midriff is flat compared to before and does not protrude past my bustline on a sideview, and my pants are baggy in the butt and hips. How the heck the scale could be up another 2 pounds this morning is beyond me. :scared: I have to convince myslef not to attach any significance to it. I am glad you aren't giving up. We are all in this together. :grouphug:

Did 4.5 mi. walk today, 70 minutes.

That brings me to 1036 mins.

I think I will bump up my monthly goal to 1500. I wan't sure if I'd keep going :rolleyes1 but I am. :)

I feel the same way, Angie. :goodvibes It's fun to "report in" to people who can appreciate how hard it is sometimes to make the time or find the energy and motivation to get those minutes done. I know you guys understand, so I enjoy sharing it with you. Seeing all the great support here makes me want to have a reason to check in by having minutes to report. LOL!

As for me, today is definitely a rest day. I totally overdid it Wednesday and am still paying for it. My right quad muscle feels as if it has been shredded and now the spot where the back of my right arm meets my back is also painful. I think my TRX workout with K would have been sufficient, but I also did a lot of rowing that day and worked really hard at deepwater aerobics, in addition to the other stuff I did at the gym. I have to get a long "run" in tomorrow, so I am not doing anything today, except perhaps doing my nighttime reading sitting on the balance ball to work on my core. It is SO much harder than it looks!
 
So, I ended up getting sick after returning from Disney World. I didn't feel like doing much, and when I did, I ended up in a coughing fit. Last night I decided to do some treadmill time - but taking it pretty easy. So just 30 minutes of walking.
So this brings me to 510/1000 so far.

Haven't been around all week. We did end up taking that hike last Saturday, and it totally did me in! Ended up hurting my knee (stirred-up an old injury), so I pretty much took the rest of this week off to let it rest. You know the story ... ice and Motrin, ice and Motrin. :crazy2:

Figured I'd let ya'll know I didn't drop off the face of the Earth LOL Here are my minutes totaled from the Hike of Pain:
