May Exercise Challenge- 38,344 minutes!!!

LOL! I was just thinking of yesterday's clothing changes:
Sleep clothes
Workout clothes
Spa wrap for locker room
Work clothes
Workout clothes
Swim workout clothes
Sweats for drive home
Sleep clothes

So...I haven't worked out at ALL this month  But this weekend, I'll be heading to the beach, so there is sure to be some walking in there, and we're definitely going dancing Saturday night so I'll be able to post some progress when I get back hopefully! It's so motivating to see everyone's numbers, I gotta catch up :)

I haven't either. Zero motivation. I'm just so tired all the time, I think it might be the rain, I'm not sure. I went to bed at 9:30 the other night and still got up 30 minutes late to take the kids to school (woke up at 7:30). I'd rather take a nap than work out.

lol, this is more changes of clothes than I had but since starting C25K I have had to add an extra load of laundry! Since it is just DH and I we usually only have one load a week that I do on Sundays. Now I have a mid-week load as well. :laundy:
He actually bought me new workout clothes (well, gave me his card and said "go buy new stuff!") since I only had two pairs of pants to workout in.

Have fun at the beach! I love walking at an on the beach. I am jealous!

I hope you are feeling more energetic soon. Are you taking vitamins?

Now that is a supportive sweetie! :lovestruc

First of all, did 35 min wt machines and 45 cardio this morning.

Cam, you are so inspirational! I get tired just reading about all the changes of clothes!!:lmao: A personal trainer is such a great help. I had one and it set me on the right path so I wouldn't injure myself trying to do too much. Keep up the fantastic work.:goodvibes

I may be wrong to do this, but I NEVER get on the scale. I used to weigh myself every week, but if I hit a plateau I would get discouraged and give up. So now I just keep working out and what happens happens. My masso-therapist says I've lost at least 30 pounds since beginning in November.:confused3 whether I have or not, I feel so much stronger and more healthy. Finally I'm doing something for myself, taking charge of my life. And so are all of you. It is so nice to have work out "buddies" on these monthly challenges. Keeps me motivated and inspired. Good luck to everyone! :yay:

Good morning, everyone! Look at all those beautiful, sweaty minutes we're posting! It's funny that I love equally the posts by people who love their workouts and can't wait to do them and the posts by people who don't want to exercise but are doing it because of this challenge. ;)

Either way, every single minute counts, and if this challenge is a motivator, then that is awesome! Just keep moving!!! Today is only May 10! Many more days of movement ahead!

ITA ::yes:: I love reading how everyone is doing, it definitely motivates me. Even the ones who aren't motivated ... because sometimes I feel that way, too

05/10 - 45 minutes treadmill

May Total: 280/600

20 more minutes and I'll be at halfway already ... Since this was my first time doing an exercise challenge, I wasn't really sure where to set my minutes and wanted to choose a number that would be realistic for me to achieve. I guess next month I'll have a better idea of where to set my monthly goal. :flower1:

I have a *huge* problem with the scale. It is not my friend. I've been plateaued for a long time. It sucks getting on there and seeing the same number ... over and over ... for months. :rolleyes2 And I'm with you, Lois - when I get on there, it totally disappoints me instead of motivating me, so I have to stay off.

I did weigh at the beginning of this month, though, and yes, I'm still at the exact same weight. I still have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm just trying to stay focused on working out and on how my clothes fit.

So glad to have found this board and finally have people who understand!

Hello all! So yesterday I had to take a day off but ended up playing soccer with my 13 year old for 30 minutes...or should I say she kicked that ball all over the world and I had to chase it!! Then today my husband took me on that evil PT trail again...ugh, it is the hardest 2-1/2 miles of my life :( But I'm happy when I finish it. So, 60 done today!! :cool1:

I just proof read this and realized how great my family is to keep me going :goodvibes I'm very greatful to them.

New total: 342/1100

Thank you for keeping track for me!
Lynda

No, I haven't needed them for a while but I think I'm going to go back to it again. I really do think it's weather related because now that the sun is trying to shine I feel a little better. Still nursing a multiday headache but I feel a better then I did yesterday.

Hi! :wave2:

Would today be too late to sign on to this challenge? I've only recently rejoined the DIS boards (couldn't for the life of me remember my old sign on from a few years ago) and I am trying to get myself into some sort of shape (besides round, that is) before the Princess 1/2 Marathon next february.

If its too late, that's fine. I'll keep my eyes open for next months then.

50 minutes today. 35 minute walk, 5 minute arms and 10 minute abs. I would have walked further but it was raining here again.

Total so far
375/1000

That's great! And you can go right past your goal here, or you can up it at some point. :thumbsup2

Great!

You could be on to something. I've had terrible barometric pressure headaches off and on the past couple weeks, and other days I've had allergy headaches. UGH! I'm glad you are feeling a bit better.

It's never too late to join. :welcome: What is your goal? If you have any minutes in already this month, feel free to give me the total so far and your goal minutes. Also, if you want your IRL first name to appear next to your screen name in the first post, just tell me what it is. :)

Sorry about the rain. Kudos on getting in a walk! :thumbsup2

My house is needing some love and attention, but I did get 110 mins at the gym today! (Running, stairs, leg weight machines, core and elliptical)

I just can't seem to get it all in with work (part time), my kids' schedules, housework and time for myself. Soemthing's got to give and right now it's my house. DH is ok with it because he's glad I'm finally working out for myself. Everything always comes before me, but I'm trying to change that!

I love reading everyone's updates daily :)

ETA: I forgot to tally my minutes: was at 444, add 110 mins. from today, new total:
554/1200

350/1200 elliptical and my crunches

Waiting for my parents to arrive so I did one last hurrah on the elliptical! Hoping the weather is ok in the morning so I can go out for a walk!

TTFN :tigger:

Woot! Thanks for hosting us again, Cam! :thumbsup2

I have a very busy month in May but I'm going to put myself down for 1,200 because I'm pushing myself to 100% run a 5K in June on the night before my 50th birthday. :cake:

This is what I have so far:

5/5 127 minutes - :cool1: Expedition Everest 5K & Scavenger Hunt (net time)
5/10 70 minutes - strength and cardio

Just so happens that DH and I will be in WDW over the Tower of Terror 10-Miler weekend. The 10-Miler is full - plus, I was worried about running a longer race after being in the parks for 5 days beforehand - so I signed up for the 5k Haunted Fun Run in the morning and got tickets to the Villians Bash for me and DH! :woohoo:
