May Exercise Challenge- 38,344 minutes!!!

I know I am already over, but I have another 360 minutes of sweating it out to add. May was an extraordinary month and I may never have this many minutes again. So please add them.:dance3:

------------
So, June is fast approaching, my friends. Some WISHers have expressed here and in PMs a desire/willingness to host the June challenge and I am glad to defer to someone else.

So, who wants to do it? Whoever that is might want to start the thread in the next day or so, so that people will hit the boards posting on June 1. Just post here to let us all know if you are going to host it, and we'll jump on board on your new thread as soon as you start it.

If I can answer questions for someone about how to do any of it, I'm glad to, though as you can see it is pretty simple. [oh, and none of this is to say I don't want to do it, but I definitely want whoever else wants to host to do it and I didn't want to be so presumptuous as to just start the new thread, since whoever starts it is the only one who can edit the first post.]

Hey Cam, something we do on the Scrapbook boards with challenges is who ever has the highest number for the month hosts the next months challenge. Then that person is ineligible to host the following month (If they have the highest number again), it helps spread the wealth a little bit. We take the next highest person as the hostess.

90 more minutes between yesterday and today (swimming), brings my total to:

955/1200

- Laura

1254/1700

We spent the afternoon moving bookcases and furniture away from walls, scrubbing the walls and finally painting the walls. Going to need a second coat. Drat! Plus it's not the exact shade of what was on there, which I really, really love. But I suppose I'll get used to this slightly lighter, less blue shade of green. I told DH that it'll look better when our furniture is back in place covering it up! :rotfl:

Oh WOW!! Super cool! You guys have to go check out the first post. Look at all those color changes! It's so pretty! Lots of turquoise and red and lime green! :thumbsup2

You guys are totally rocking this challenge this month!! :cool1:

I am so proud of everyone who joined this challenge and just so impressed with how hard everyone has worked. I hope you are all having fun with it and that you have found that being part of this challenge thread has motivated you at least a bit more than you might have been otherwise. I've loved being part of this! :grouphug:

Cam, if no one else pops in, I can start the June thread tomorrow evening.

I'm not sure what the 'highest number' means - is that the number of posts in the May thread? Whatever you would like to do, I am happy to do it.

My update here in Hades, as mrsdrake so aptly described:

1821/2000
May 26 -- 42 mins, power walking; 40 mins, power walking with pup
May 27 -- 124 mins, power walking
May 28 -- 34 mins, biking [first time since January and I did okay, thanks to all of that power walking with the pup]
May 28 -- 35 mins, power walking with the pup.

2096/2000 Woo-hoo I finished, even in this heat! :cool1: Now, onto June, July and August.

A slow run after the long run on Sunday... 4.25 miles in 58 minutes.

Total for the month: 1607/1600!

Yay!!

Ted

I'll be back later to update everyone's numbers but wanted to post mine here for the moment. I did 30 minutes half marathon training yesterday, bringing me to 1815/1800. I'm really glad I upped my goal twice and still met it. I have a couple more workout sessions before June 1.

35 minutes of wt machines and 50 minutes of cardio.

955/1200

I've sort of slacked off the last part of May. But hopefully I'll still make my goal. Only 245 minutes to go...

Thanks, Cam for taking care of and encouraging us these last two months! You're really working hard and are an inspiration. :goodvibes

I would like to this in June. I need all the help I can get to push me to exercise. I have been walking/jogging for 30 minutes for the last few weeks. I want to add to that in the evenings starting this week. So how do I set my goal number??

I think I have everyone posted up to here, and hopefully, I got all the color changes, as well.

Congrats to everyone who has hit their goal and is still moving! :thumbsup2
To everyone still moving toward a goal or a percentage, we have 3 days left to get those minutes in! :cool1:

Your goal can be anything you want. Just figure out how many minutes of exercise/activity you want to get in during the month of June and set that as your goal, or set a goal a bit higher than what you think you can achieve, so that you push yourself a little harder to hit those minutes.

debbieandroo - Does that mean you are willing to host in June? That would be great. If you decide to do it, and you want me to send you the first post from this thread in "edit" format to paste into your first post (and then you can make any changes you want), I am glad to send it to you. Also, I have talley sheets I created in Word to help me keep a physical update during the day until I have time to update the first post. Just let me know what I can do to help.

BandB - I think that is a fun way of figuring out who does it next, but I fear that someone might be "forced" to do it who doesn't want to. So, I think we can leave it to whomever volunteers.

I'll continue to update through May 31 and in the several days after so that everyone's final numbers can be updated and we can figure out the total for the entire group for the month of May.

I did 120 minutes of jog/walking at the local college on Sunday morning and 60 minutes of abs and cardio last night in the living room.

So my total is 590/1200

I won't make my goal but I CAN hit the 50% mark. :)

Well, I managed one good run on Saturday. With a bit of dog walking and attacking a rose bush I am up to 640/800.

Good luck everyone wrapping up this month!

Colleen

We could use highest percentage since that's how we do the numbers. (Sorry brain wasn't functioning with the heat yesterday)
Or we could just start a list for each month at the beginning of the year. (But we could start one now with June)

70 minutes. 35 min yoga, 20 min 30 day shred, 15 min light weights.
Today was the first day of 30 day shred. I tried last week but it was too much that day after jogging. I almost couldn't finish today!

Cam, I'll send you a PM you with my email address. That's great that you have those files already - no need to reinvent any wheels. And you can PM me with that first page. Thanks again for hosting these past few months - your encouragement was a super boost.
