Hi Disfriends!

I thought I would just give some quick thoughts on my two separate trips to WDW in March. Both trips were magical, but there were definite differences between the two trips.

March 2-7, stayed in a two bedroom villa at Beach Club on our DVC points with DH, DS 24, and DS 21:
1. We had rain and cooler temps on our first day, but the rest of the week we had glorious weather. High 70s, low 80s and no rain. Weather is always a crap shoot in March, and we really lucked out.
2. It was crowded in the parks, but definitely manageable. We had lightning lanes, and we were able to do pretty much everything we wanted to do in terms of rides.
3. We had fantastic meals at Yachtsman Steakhouse (my fellas love them some steak!) and at Cake Bake Shop. Beaches and Cream, Space 220, and Cape May were good as well.
4. I continue to say you're a total chump if you don't use mobile order for QS meals in the parks. I love that you can pay for mobile order meals using Disney gift cards too. I watched so many families standing in line waiting to order at QS places and just scratched my head.
5. DH shipped his golf clubs and played golf two days at two different WDW golf courses. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and definitely plans to do this again in the future.
6. We encountered great CMs everywhere...great CMs at Beach Club, on the Boardwalk and at all of the parks.
7. DH and I bellied up to the Bellvue Lounge bar one night at the BW and Felton the bartender made me a fantastic drink called "Mother's Love". Felton is awesome and that sweet/tart concoction hit the spot! Hello to Vicky...she was a DVC owner from Texas who sat next to us at the bar. We had a lovely conversation about Disney, family, and DVC ownership....so hello if you are on the Disboards! As we left, my husband and I both agreed that encounters with folks like Felton and Vicky are the reason we bought DVC and come to WDW over and over again.
8. Single rider lines are a game changer! Whenever we used single rider lines, those rides were basically a walk on throughout the day!
9. DH and I also agreed that there is something really special about Disney-ing with adult children. We are so glad that our boys continue to love Disney and want to do trips with us.

March 17-20, stayed preferred at Pop Century with a roommate from college who loves Disney as much as I do:
1. I was shocked at how much MORE crowded the parks and transportation felt. Spring break was clearly in full swing; I waited in way longer lines for transportation and for rides this trip.
2. We had lightning lanes, but we were not able to use them much. I got on at our 7 day window right at 7 am, but I was not able to snag good lightning times. I learned quickly that this put us at such a disadvantage after we tapped in to our first ride. Most rides we wanted had very late times or were completely sold out; we were grateful for the three we had, but didn't get much beyond this.
3. Temps were much cooler this week, but thankfully we had no rain. We are both from the midwest, so cooler temperatures are no big deal for us. We threw on a sweatshirt with our shorts/skorts, but we saw lots of folks wearing puffer coats, hats, and gloves during our time there.
4. We both love Frozen Sing Along. My fellas never want to go to shows with me, so it's always great to travel with my Disney bestie who loves shows like I do. We both LOVE Aria, who is so, so funny! I watched it twice, and had the same Aria both times, but two different Erics. The second show Aria got both Eric and Kristoff to break character and laugh. Absolutely hilarious!!
5. We learned that Cake Bake's breakfast is every bit as delicious as its dinner!
6. We were lucky enough to snag a Victoria & Albert's reservation using the Stake Out app...truly a bucket list item for both of us. We loved every minute of our 3+ hour experience. The wait staff was excellent and the food was literally the best I've ever eaten. It was an amazing experience.
7. We visited Felton again at the Bellvue Lounge and I stand by the Mother's Love drink. Fantastic if you love a sweet/tart cocktail.
8. We tried Geo-82 for the first time and had great food and a fabulous view of Epcot! It's menu is whiskey heavy for suggested cocktails. While we are not whiskey/bourbon gals, our husbands are. When we return for the Food & Wine races in the fall, we'll definitely bring the husbands.
9. I paired this second Disney trip with a family get together on Amelia Island, which prompted the need for a rental car. I rented with Alamo and dropped my rental off at the Dolphin. This was a GAMECHANGER! It was so easy and I didn't feel like I paid much more to drop off here. If I need to rent a car in the future, will definitely use the Dolphin as a pick up or drop off location again.
10. I'm really grateful I have a Disney gal pal who likes impromptu Disney trips. I felt lucky to be able to really get good use out of my AP in March!
