Has anyone read on any other site more specifics about the trial May E night /magic after hours available to disney resort guests starting May 9? I am going in May and this "trial" starts part way into my trip. They have not advised yet how long extra you will get each day at the parks so it makes deciding whether plans (including dining priority seating) should be changed. I have not seen any updated info on any of the sites I browse. Has anyone else seen or heard more specifics than are posted on this site? Input appreciated!!!:earsboy:

well.....Melissa from Poly concierge e-mailed me w/the following info:
Offerings by Day of Week (May 9-22)

Sunday - Epcot (evening)
Monday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (morning)
Tuesday - Disney-MGM Studios (evening)
Wednesday - Epcot (morning); Magic Kingdom (evening)
Thursday - Disney's Animal Kingdom (evening)
Friday - Magic Kingdom (morning)
Saturday - Disney-MGM Studios (morning)
The evening Extra Magic Hour is 3 hours after regular park closing and you will need to obtain a wristband at the Main Entrance turnstile no sooner than three hours prior to Park close or at select locations throughout the park no sooner than two hours prior to Park close.

now, a caveat - we just received a postcard about the extra magic evenings, and the info is completely different. Postcard states that wristbands will be distributed only 2 hours prior to park closing, & that extra magic evenings add anywhere from 1-3 hours to the day. I have e-mailed IPO again for a clarification.

Are the amount of wristbands they are giving away on evening magic hours limited? We were wanting to visit Epcot, and then hop over to Magic Kingdom to enjoy the evening magic hours on a Wednesday (May 19). We wanted to stay at Epcot as long as possible. How early would we need to get to Magic Kingdom to ensure that we would get in for the evening magic hours?

Don't know why DW thanked you for calling her a him, but I always end my posts with a "-DH" so that you can tell it's me. You would think that eventually the DIS Police would come along and tell her to get her own ID.

Does anyone have an idea of what resorts will be included in this? The official site only says 'selected resorts'. Specifically, I was wondering about the DTD and Swan/ Dolphin hotel.

I'm just wondering in case this test ends up being permanent. It could effect where we stay in Sept if that is the case.

Holy shmoly, that means they are eliminating three EARLY magic hours in the bargain??? If this change is permanent, it will probably mess up my entire planning for my June trip.

GRUMPy37...try being one of the ones going in early May...They just announced the change. There are no more good priority seating areas for 9 and the parks we planned to be at for the early morning magic hour no longer offer it. Our entire priority seating plans are messed up! Ah-well...I guess it just adds challenge to planning! We still will have fun anyways!:D

THey said in the announcement that all priority seatings already booked were being honored.

Thanks anyway McCall. Priority seating may be honored but if that is not the park that is open for extra hours what good is it going to that park. I spent half the day redoing my dining so that I could attend the extra park hours without having to switch parks. My only problem was that since I was trying to change priority seating so late in the game my group has to split into 2 tables for many of the restaurants. I feel that too much time is lost "hopping around the world." We usually stay with one park per day.
