May booking question

We are thinking of buying resale. The contract we are considering purchasing has banked points that expire in June. Provided I am able to close by mid-March, do you think I will have a problem booking weekdays in May on such a late notice?

I think that there will be availability for weekdays in May if you are willing to consider all of the resorts.

We decided on a whim last week (one of the joys of DVC ownership) to go this spring break - second week of March - but we wanted to stay at our home (BCV) or as an alternative, BW. We love SAB and the convenience of the Epcot resort area. The only availability for a STUDIO was OKW and SSR. We could have booked a 1BR at any resort we wanted! Because we have not been spoiled by a 1BR yet and like to conserve points (our contract is only 160 points), we opted to go on the waitlist for a studio at either BCV or BW. We got the call Saturday morning that the BW studio was available. We are still on the waitlist for the BCV but went ahead and committed the points to the BW room. We are very excited about going in less than 50 days and are excited to try BW.

We have our annual trip planned for this June but our APs expire in May so we are glad we are getting an extra trip in before they expire.

Bottom Line Answer: You will definitely be able to use your points, and if you are willing to book a 1BR you will probably have greater resort flexibility.

Unsolicited Advice:

We executed our resale contract last March 8 and had to push to get into the DVC system before our May 14 trip in order to get our discounted AP's (over $300 savings). So, the advice here is the sooner the better.
