May 9th-13th, 2010 4 night Bahamas Cruise

We are officially booked! It will be me (46), my mom (70), and my 2 youngest DDs (14 & 11). It is my and my Mom's Mother's Day as well as my graduation celebration (although I don't graduate 'til Sept, Dad was being very generous!)

We'd love to do the FE, but would like more detail on how that works...we also don't have our cabin assignment yet.

I have to pick my Mom up at the airport noon-ish, so I'm hoping we can get to a 2:30 DIS meet!

24 more days :-) It's my Mother's day, DD's MAW trip and I will be 40 May 18th :-)

Hummmmm.. what does Cara age 19 like?????

Hoping I can make the meet up too. We aren'tflying in until that morning and I don't have my papers from MAW yet

We booked about 2 weeks ago. DH is coming home from Iraq in about a week. We are doing this cruise on our way to moving to Germany! We'll get off the ship and fly to Germany the next day!
First set of packers come this week! AUGH!!! The cruise will be a nice, relaxing treat after 21 months apart from my husband (had a few breaks during the 21 months but they were few and far between and always involved Disney trips! LOL)
So how does the FE work? I wouldn't mind possibly doing it.
Cruising will be me, DH, DS (age 8) and twin DDs (age 2.5). We will be celebrating that Daddy is home, Mother's Day and DH and my wedding anniversary (12 years on May 30).
My biggest question is it is daily thing and is it for the adults and children?
We are quite the spectacle with my flaming red hair and the twinadoes so you all will probably see us before we see you! :)

Rachel,
Welcome to the group...the easiest way to explain the FE is to go to the link on fish extenders in the forum, but basically you leave a gift for the cabins that are signed up...it can be something for the whole family or individual gifts...totally up to you. I will need your cabin # and names and ages of your party to update the list.

Fellow cruisers,
We are only 3weeks away from another "wonder"ful adventure with Disney:cheer2: Just a reminder that I will close the fish extender tomorrow and update all the information. The meet and greet will be in the promenade lounge between 245 and 3pm, if ok with everyone else...look forward to meeting you all...until then ...Have a magical day:wizard:

We would like to do it. Do we do a daily gift for each stateroom or just once during the cruise. I know it's up to us if we want to do a family gift or individual.
Thanks!

Oh! If anyone is crafty and would like to make us a fish extender for our FE exchange that would be nice. If it can be done cheaply, that is! Otherwise I think I'll hang a cute bag. :)
DH was supposed to be home by now from Iraq but between Army logistics and the volcanic ash, we have no idea when he'll be home. So, I'm stuck preparing for our move by myself so trying to make one (or even surf ebay for one) is just too much for me to worry about right now.

:flower3:I am new to all of this and technologically challenged to say the least! I went on the 4 day Wonder last month with hubby and am going again with my daughter Anna-Presley 13 and her friend age 14, but no hubby this time :-( My older kids ( 19, 17, 15) and I will vacation together this summer when they get out of school, but this time I am only bringing the 13 yr old who has never cruised before!I am excited but I think it will be a little weird to be by myself because I know these girls will be off with teens the meet onboard! I live in Orlando and go to WDW just about every weekend and I can (hopefully) answer any questions you have about the cruise since I just got off April 1st :-) Hope to meet you all!!

Welcome :-)

Rachel.. I'm so sorry.. I hope DH makes it (((Hugs)))

Lots of twins on this cruise.. My DD's are twins too LOL

So I have 11 families participating? Is that correct?

This is the updates fro the FE as of Monday the 19th when we closed it...some cabin numbers are missing but we will update when we meet in the promenade lounge...look forward to meeting all of you and having a "wonder"ful cruise!

Opps.. I had Disneynut 64 twice LOL
I think Derek in her party is 7 not 10?

Also OrlandoPrincess? She was on the 20th after the closing date?

I didn't get a confirmation from orlando princess so I didn't add to the FE...also coorected Dereks age per the reply on page 2...hopefully everything is correct now

Don't worry about us for the FE.I know I am jumping in last minute, and ya'll have been planning this for a while. I do hope I get to meet you all since I'll be the only adult in my party and might need a break from teenagers at some time during the cruise :cutie:
This is going to be a very different cruise for me thatn last month when I went with my husband. I plan on bringing a lot of books and a big appetite!

I'm going to have a 14yo, 11yo and my mother, so I'd like to be sure to meet you as well! We can compare notes on the joys of teenage girls...:lmao:

I just found out I have a 50 page thesis to write for my Master's in the next 8 weeks, so I'll be working away on that, but heck, working on a thesis on the sea is better than working on it in my office, right???pirate:

graygables.
I'm working on my Master's too! I decided at 43 that that would be a good idea. What was I thinking?! Luckily the cruise falls between the end of one class and the beginning of another so I HOPE I won't have homework due because I reallly don't want to work on anything.
Best of luck!!

graygables--we need your cabin number for the FE!

Do you want pens or pencils for writing that thesis on the cruise?!! :lmao:
Seriously, I hope you can just let the cruise provide you with rest, relaxation and rejuvenation so you can knock out that paper LATER!

Only 16 more sleeps!!!

Finally got my cabin number, it's 2518 :cool1:

Sure, pens and pencils would be fabulous!!! :thumbsup2 I, too, hope I get some R&R and I'm working on the paper already, but don't have high hopes of getting it all done before it's time to set sail. I will be happy to look back on this as the graduation cruise where I completed my thesis on Deck 4. What a souvenir! :lmao:

Can't believe it's so soon...I have too much to do to get ready!!!

I've never done FE before, but I see that we can choose whether to do family/per person. The next question is, is it each day, once per cruise, how does that work?

The next question is, is it each day, once per cruise, how does that work?

We've done the FEs on both cruises we've been on. The first time (4-day cruise), it was pretty much whatever you wanted--some of us did just one visit to each participating cabin during the cruise. Others visited each day, leaving a little surprise each time. I made "goodie bags" with a couple of items in each bag for each person and just made the rounds once. I could just as easily have spread it out over several days, but we had 22 families participating and that would involve a LOT of tramping up and down the passageways. My bum knee didn't like that idea. On our last cruise (7-day) each cabin/family was assigned a day, so that everyone got something each day. This trip could go either way.

Anybody have any preferences? We have 9 families participating so we could have 3 deliver on 1 day, then 2 on each of the other 3 days. Or, we could just do the "free for all" and deliver when we want. Personally, I don't have enough to deliver to everybody, every day.
