so who's going with us... we are a group of about 30 people, mostly singles betweent the ages of 18-50, we are really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying things Disney style..

Look forward to talking with and meeting you

We are looking forward to it. We are a Disney-crazy family of 4 from MN. We have a 10 year old girl princess: and a 5 year old boy :smooth:
My daughter is seeking a friend to be an e-pal with prior to sailing.

Myself, DH, DS (age 13), Sister, and her DD (age 8) will be doing the land & sea! This is the first time cruising for all of us! We are getting really excited! Can't wait to meet everyone!

Hey, I posted on the old boards with another lady from NJ and we were the only ones that seemed to be sailing on the May 8th wonder and it's really great to see other people are going too. Cindylou01 you made my day. I am a single mother who is really looking forward to doing Palo either for brunch or dinner or both if I can  problem was I didn't want to dine alone so knowing a group of singles are going to be on this cruise is great. At least I can find a dinner partner or two Yeah!! Mickeynutz my daughter is 11 years old and will just be turning 12 b4 the cruise (she's in 6th grade) She doesn't know about the trip yet b/c it's a surprise that I'm doing as part of her Christmas present so as soon as she finds out, I'm sure she would love to chat with your dd. I can't wait to go at this point and I'm dying to tell her but I have to wait another week before she sees the wrapped clues and presents!!

:cool1: So glad to see some replies !

Judy Stoks - I quick looked up where Porter, MN is. My name is also Judy and I am also from Minnesota!

DizPrincess27 - Did you tell your daughter about the cruise as a Xmas present? How did it go? I will email you directly with my daughter's email address and I'll send our Xmas letter so you can see a photo of her too. She has been to WDW about 9 times. She has her own email address and checks it about once a week or so. Her name is Clarissa and she just turned age 11 on Christmas Day. She is in 5th grade. She likes to read & to play computer games. She is a bit horse-crazy and has had a few horse-back riding lessons. She just started marching in a winter color guard. She is excited to go to the Oceaner Lab area on the ship and is hoping to make a friend to hang out with.

I'm been to WDW 20+ times but have never been on a Disney Cruise!!
However, in August 2004, my sister got married on the Royal Caribbean Mariner and it was awesome!! My husband, Kelton and I went on that 7 day western Caribbean cruise without our children. So we do have recent experience with renting a car and driving to Port Canaveral and the process of boarding a ship. We were right next to the Disney Wonder in port and took a great photo of the ship. My kindergarner, Blake, has had taped up on his bedroom wall beside his bunk bed. I point out to him where our stateroom is on the photo! I booked the cruise 18 months ahead of time and got one of the 6 "secret porthole rooms". So we are paying inside Cat 11 price but have a window with an obstructed view. Ohmygosh -- it is only 5 months away now- I have got to start dieting!

I love travel and the planning of the trip and anticipation of it is a lot of fun to me. My co-workers come to ask me questions if they are planning a trip to Disney and I'll tell them it is my favorite subject and give them tips! I've got a bunch of emails saved in a folder that I'll send out and they tell me I'm nuts but it is just what I'm into! We've stayed both on the property & off-the property. On our most recent trips we've been renting vacation homes and are convinced that is an excellent way to go! I have never found a Disney package that I can't price out the pieces of myself for less $$.

I'm headed to Las Vegas in 3 weeks so I've been researching that lately - just bought tickets to Mamma Mia! last night. :rockband: My husband and I met when we both marched in MN Brass Drum & Bugle Corps....I always dated horn players but I married a drummer! I marched in color guard/drum corps for many years beginning at age 13 and ending at age 36. I am now 40 of have finally retired from it after many claims of "It's my last year".

Our family of four will also be on this trip, me, DH, DD13, and DS8. We won this trip and have never been on a cruise. Just got back from WDW after Thanksgiving :earboy2: Looking forward to talking with ya'll before the trip!

Can you believe it, only 4 months and we will be on the wonder... well our group has shrank, only 20 going now, but that is the final total, we are all soo excited... this is a Singles group from our church... it is a mix of college age students ages 19-26, and older singles 40+, our singles pastor and his wife have two kids, girl who is in 6th grade and son that is 14...

I feel like I have been planning forever and I just pray things go well, I have been on the magic once and the wonder once for the 3 day, not the 4 day so I am excited... :earseek:

I am married and my husband and I are getting a verandah room :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4: :jumping4: I think we are just gonna love it, we usually are in Cat. 11, so this is really big for us...
I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Have you decided what excursions you are going to do? I have not yet..

our group was told the room numbers most of us are on the 5th floor...We are all getting excited and now trying to decide what excursions to do... we are gonna have a great time.

Hi Cindylou01 - My daughter who is also in 6th grade and I are also going on this cruise!! I was interested in the fact that you are part of a singles group because I am a single mother looking for a person or persons who might let me join them for dinner/brunch at Palo's so I don't have to miss it :earboy2: Do you think it's possible that I might sit with someone in your group perhaps? Just a thought

julie,
I am sure that you would be welcome with our group... We have half college students and the other half are older singles, only two children going that belong to our Singles pastor.... I teach in the college dept. of our church and they really are a great group of young people....
we are dinning at the early dinner... not really any plans for excursions or anything yet, we are gonna have a meeting soon to determine what to do... also not sure what will happen at Palo's, because of it being a group...
when it gets closer to time we will have to get our heads together to see how we can work this out... we will definetly plan a meet when we get on the ship....

Cindylou01,

I am going to fit in with the older group of singles LOL but that is great that you said it shouldn't be a problem. When I embark I will inquire as to if there any singles who I might join for a meal at Palos and I will defintely mention the church single group and hopefully I'll be able to meet up with some of the group for dinner or anyone that would welcome some company. I actually had given up on eating there b/c I didn't want to eat by myself but now I'm excited at the prospect of going. My TA said not to miss it too!! Thanks and have fun planning!!! I can't wait to go and we're getting closer now. I've been planning this since last May which to me is half the fun. Take care.

:cheer2:

julie,
If your daughter gets on the internet I will check with my pastor's daughter and maybe they can email each other that way they can possibly become friends prior to the sailing, that might be good for both of them... to have a friend in the clubs...

I am also older/ late 40's ( o my gosh when did that happen) anyway, when we get on the ship I know you can make ressies when you get on board, so before we leave we are going to have a meeting and decide which night are our options, but the final thing will decide on which rotation we get...

We would love for you to join us... so as time gets closer and we know for sure what our rooms are, I will let you know so you can find me... right now we are all on 5th floor but that may change I am in 5124.

Hey Julie,

I am going on the May 8 cruise and I am a single mother from Wisconsin. I am going with my 7 year old daughter and I would be happy to share a meal at Palo's with you. I am doing the late dinner, so I am not sure if that fits with your schedule but I am willing to do the brunch, I've heard that it is fabulous! I am looking forward to having a great time and I love meeting people..

Dor

Hi Dor - (do I have that right?) Wonderful it's a date LOL!! Actually we have the late dinner too. I was trying to switch it to the early seating but so far we are on the wait list for it. I am willing to switch something around in order to do Palo though don't worry :teeth: Anyway, I am going to PM you with my e-mail address so we can chat a bit more. Thanks you made my day :cool1:

thanks to Julie.....I found this post!
We will be on the may 8th wonder with all of you! My hubby, myself, DS (7), DD (5), my parents and my in-laws. We are so excited to be going. The kids have been to Disney many times, however this will be their first cruise. My husband and I have been on a cruise before, but this will be our first Disney cruise!
What excursions is everyone doing in nassau? We haven't decided yet. We were leaning towards the Dolphin encounter, but now are not sure. On Castaway Cay, wanted to do the Banana Boats, but my kids aren't old enough....so it just might be me and hubby!

Anyway, looking forward to planning this with all of you.....lI can't believe that it is coming so soon....It seems like forever that I have been researching and planning!

Bobbi

Bobbi - I'm so glad you found the thread  I just replied to the old thread to tell you I was going to bump this one up too but now I don't have to. I decided to book the Dolphin Swim on my own because my dd is going to be 12 and I know she'll love it but the dolphin encounter sounds great for your kids. I know it seems like just yesterday when we were the only ones going on this cruise right LOL????

I know that we have one party in our group trying to decide between the dolphin encounter or the swim... My husband says he wants to stay on the boat in Nasaau, we have been there so many times, he is going to us that day to relax>>>;
some of the group wants to take the horse and buggy ride and others will be going to atlantis... so there is a variety of options with our group...

our group is now down to 23 people but we are all very very excited... :hourglass :Pinkbounc

I enjoy snorkeling so I may try an excursion with snorkeling, I have my own gear so, I may just wait to cast away cay....

I cant wait to meet everyone....

trying to find out more about Pirate night on the ship... I hear we may have fireworks by then...
