~May 7, 2011~ 7-night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Magic!

Can anyone help?
I am sure I have read somewhere that the people from the kids clubs come to dining room and can take children back to the club before adults have finished their meals, firstly is this right or I have I dreamt this? Secondly if this is the case, does it work the same for the nursery, if you book nursery time for part way through a meal do they do the same thing come to the dining room to collect children?
Thanks

Hi!:) We were on both the Magic and Wonder and neither times did we see someone pick up the kids in the dining room. There may have been someone but we were not aware of that. We did have our kids eat dinner/ lunch at the kids club and they take the kids to the buffet and stay with them and bring them back to the kids club. That would be wonderful if they pick them up in the restaurants so the adults can continue eating. Let me know if you get anymore info on that. My understanding is that it's the kids clubs and it's only for late dining. I think dinner starts at 8:15pm and the counselors from the club show up at the door at 9:00pm. We had main dining last time and booked the late seating to take advantage of this.

I think for the nursery you'd have to do a drop off. But, I imagine it would be pretty easy to do during courses.

We're driving as well. The worst part of the trip down I95 after we got through the Megopolis, was the boredom, but we solved that with audiobooks.

My TA said that there are 2 things that I need to print and take with me. I printed the cruise contract that I need to sign the bottom of, but she also said to print the credit card authorization form. Does anyone know where to find that??

It's an old form they don't use now. Just the contract form now.

We had second dining. The club counselor came around 9:00pm. We let our server know and he made sure our GS had his meal and was ready to go by that time. You'll have to bring your child to the nursery, sorry.

Yes...i moved here 8 years ago.

We will be flying to FL, we found good plane tickets to fly from St.Louis to Orlando for $100 each.

Awesome! :goodvibes

So, I need for us to sign and bring just the one form and our passports and we're good at the check in at the port?

Is there more papers to sign in a package you get from DCL before sailing?

Passports and the contract form are all you need. :thumbsup2

The forms you get from DCL in the mail are used if you don't check in online.

Unless something has changed since Sept.

We're going to be driving down to FL from DC. We've never done the drive before.

Are there typical areas of traffic on I95? I'm thinking the worst is DC and north of DC but I honestly don't know.

Our family drives down to Florida from northern New Jersey several times a year and the only place we sometimes hit traffic is in the DC area. We try to avoid rush hour. Lots of good hotels to stay off of I95 and plenty of Cracker Barrels.:cool1:

Thanks!

Do you have any hotels you typically stay at (or for that matter, typically avoid)?

I'm trying to figure out our route and where we're likely going to stop but reading some online reviews of the I-95 hotels online is a bit daunting. Quite a few seem really sketchy. I was planning on winging it but, given what I'm reading, I think I need to plan it out a bit better.

we are flying from Anderson Indiana, too long of a drive. We will be staying near the port so we can hit the ship early! :)

We're flying down too. But, we're arriving on the 6th and staying at the Hyatt at the airport. We decided to rent a car for the day to make a liquor store run and stop at either DTD or the Boardwalk for the night for dinner. We're not able to swing a Disney trip this time, so at least we'll be able to get a little taste of Disney this way :lovestruc

How many of you guys are going (or not) to WDW before or after the cruise? I thought I wouldn't be sad because we were just there in September, but I kind of am. :guilty: It will be hard to be so close and not go :sad1:

We usually do Disney before our Cruise but not this year. Trying to mix it up a bit. We will fly down the day before, get a hotel and relax before really relaxing! LOL

We are going to stay at Boardwalk Vills for 6 days before the cruise. Afterwards we wil stay at Disney's Vero Beach resort and the Hilton Head Island resort on the way home.

Bellanapoli - Do you have any hotels you typically stay at (or for that matter, typically avoid)?

We've been driving to FL several times a year since 2003. We usualy don't any traffic problems once we pass the Manassas/Dumfries exit after DC. We like the Sleep Inns because these properties are generally clean, well maintained and easy off/easy on.

We have always gone to WDW before our cruise, until this next one. We would go to the parks and then rest on the ship. :cool1:

This time we are going to the parks after. Either way we are going to be sad getting on that plane for home.:sad2:
