May 7, 2009 3 Night Old Folks Cruise

Hi! We should arrive at the Radisson some time that afternoon/evening as we will be at AK that day. DH would like to eat some seafood at the port for dinner - know any great places?
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Getting very excited!!!:yay:

Truth be told, we used to live in Orlando (my hometown) and seafood was pretty common. Now living in Columbia, SC is getting a little harder to get that fresh seafood for dinner. As mention previously, we will be at AK that afternoon but I will be doing my darndest to get the crew to hold out for dinner until we get to PC. I have heard good things about Grill's Seafood & Tiki Bar ( http://www.grillsseafood.com/index.php ) and would really like to have dinner there. It appears to be about 1 mile from the hotel, right on the water and I believe I read that you can see the cruise ships from the deck of the restaurant.

Any more thought about having a "get-together" prior to boarding? Would love for our DDs to get to know some friends prior to getting on the ship.

Scott . . . sign me up for that lesson! I'll take any course that has a break in it to enjoy a frosty cold one on a cruise!

So its like . . . 18 Days & counting :cool1:

My husband and I actually hate there before our RCL in May '08. It was recommened by CI&S staff. It was ok. Not the best seafood. It was really loud and and a little dirty to us. Yes, you can see the ships (the port, the ships won't be in until 7am next morning).
Also, our group and Luvtheears group is meeting for breakfast. Luvtheears children do not know about the cruise though. They will find out that morning. Love you have a big group that morning and get to premeet everyone. How old are your DD's? My DS is 5 and DD is 3.

We are definitely up for a "pre-meet". Our DDs are 9 & 6. I wish we were able to keep this a surprise for our DDs but planning with the kids is just too exciting for momma. I like the surprise approach but for the last 3 months we routinely sit down for dinner and say "Lets talk about the Disney Cruise" !

What time is the pre-meet and where ?

BTW. . . what documents should we have from Disney by now? We know our room number and have luggage tags but thats it. I am curious to know if others have more info that we do not have. We don't know what our dining rotation is yet and from the previous links it sounds like we should ave that info by now.

Thanks . . . still 18 DAYS to go . . . :cool1:

Wrong info about food. We ate at Rusty's. Sorry Grille's might be good. I don't know a time yet. We need to check with Luvtheears. Our shuttle is at 10am. What time is yours? Luvtheears in on the 10 am also. Maybe around 830- 9 ish??

I'm couldn't have kept it a secret. I am way to excited and OCD about packing. My kids have been asking since we told them. We have a calender on the fridge that we mark off.

We are also on the 10:00 shuttle. Sounds like we have the same agenda, at least for that morning. Breakfast @ 8:30 sounds good for us. Our DDs would be eating at 6:00 and standing in line for the shuttle by 6:15 am if thay had it their way. Sad thing is though, DW would be in line in front of them! :rotfl2:

Sounds like your wife and I are a lot a like. At least when in comes to the cruise.

I can't remember if my documents stated dining times. It came in a thick packet with the luggage tags and boarding passes. I picked late dining.

Well, I can ensure that we will be checking in on a daily basis now until we leave for Orlando on May 2nd. DW has finished our FE and she hasn't even known about FE for 24 hours yet. She had us in a panic thinking the list has been sent to other FEs and we didn't make the cut. . . got our dates mixed up due to just learning about FE and seeing what a wonderful idea and activity we would be missing out on. She's calmed down some but we are waiting to hear back from Luvtheears for a confirmation that we have made it onto the list. . . DW is very excited about this.

Another day closer!!! We are really starting to get excited! I am working on making sure my packing is complete - 7 people for 11 days = lots of clothing needed. :)

Started packing yesterday. Soooo exciting. I haven't received an email about FE's. Has anyone else.

Not yet (regarding the FE) but are very much looking forward to it. Its the simple things that keep us going until the BIG DAY ! Thanks Luvtheears for putting this together!

16 days until we leave!!!! Luckily my DS school has an auction Thurs. that is distracting me a little from the cruise.
Anyone else ordering baskets for Shirley? I have to call tomm. I hope it's not to late.
Anyone else planning on rebooking on the cruise. I think I have talked my DH into this. Yeah!!

DW is starting to kick into high gear with the packing. Snorkels, Masks, sunscreen, FE, . . . and seperating from our other trips (Sea World, MK, AK, and then Cruise Time). It's gonna take up most of our free time from here on out so why not throw in a community garage sale on top of things... let's do one this Saturday! Not to mention having to keep up with the NFL Draft on Sat & Sun.

Safe to assume that we should hear something about the FE list this coming weekend?

Not sure about re-booking.

Muskrat it sounds like you guys will be majorly busy!!! We are doing 7 days on land after the cruise so we still have a few more days to get ready! I am seriously considering getting baskets, etc. I need to look into that some more today as well.

We're also spending the night prior at the ROP. We've stayed there several times and really like it!

You'll see me at the pool in the evening, drinking a frozen marguarita while the girls swim. Their marguaritas are the best! :thumbsup2

So I ordered the baskets this am. Shirley was super nice and very helpful. We ended up with the sand toy baskets. The kids are going to be so excited to see that Mickey and the Gang left them something.
Between this crazy school fundraiser/auction and Relay on Friday, I will be soooo ready to leave. We are planning on getting to ROP around lunch and spending the day at the pool also.
tammymacb- Do you want to meet as well for breakfast that morning of the cruise? When are you on the shuttle?
We only have 2 weekends left!!!!!!!

I ordered one yesterday! - I'm positive its not to late.. they are VERY nice and easy to work with.

They wouldn't be making it until three days prior to cruise - so I think your in good shape to order.

PS - My wife and daughter have been informed of the cruise and both are VERY excitied!

We are going to do the fish extender as well - I will forward information on.

Scott

Two more weeks to go! We are getting so excited. Yet we have so much to get done before we leave. :cool1:

One auction down. Now just Relay and 1 week of work. I am so not going to be worth anything next week at work. Can't think of anything but relaxing at Castaway Cay.
