May 6, 2007 - 4 night Wonder

The girls have strict instructions not to touch anything packed, oh but they are so excited. This isn't going to be easy.

I think I am going to have to call my MIL to see if she can spend some time with the girls so I can get things done. They are so excited to see things getting pack they want to play with them. It makes the task impossible. They want to be involved too.

Haha, your poor girls! :rotfl: They just want to touch all their stuff.

Our lime green-clad clan will be on deck 10, overlooking the terminal and the Goofy pool/dance floor for sailaway! We're packed...got the kids door signs laminated and bought the peel and stick magnets and got the pirate costumes finished. Happy happy joy joy.

Wow - you are good to go!! :yay:

Okay - I've been so busy with work/life/etc.. my suitcases aren't even out of the closets yet! :scared1:

I am such a procrasinator too.. I cannot wait for the last minute to do this. :sad2:

Sometimes I take a half day on Wednesdays -.. I think that's what I'll do today.

How's everyone else's packing coming along??

I have been done with my packing, but of course parents are not! So I spent last night helping my DM pack!!
Only 4 days left 'til we board the ship!! It doesn't feel real yet!!!

I know what you mean about it not feeling real. I've never been on a cruise or seen a cruise ship in person! I just can't imagine seeing the inside of the boat for the first time. Or pulling up to the port :cloud9:

Hey, Bethzfl, one of the most exhilarating moments of the cruise for us is crossing the second to last bridge on the road to Port Canaveral where you can see the tips of those red stacks, and you know you are really, really going on this cruise! This is cruise #9 for us, but you can be certain we'll be holding our breath on the way up the bridge until we see those stacks! Some magic just doesn't wear off ;-)

Yay :yay:

Okay - still no packing done. DH and I decided we'll do it tomorrow evening.

Ah to be young again and only have yourselves to pack for. :lmao:

Ok, I am feeling discouraged. Anna was doing fine, running around the park at a class playdate. We got to McDonalds around 7:00 and she promptly told DH she felt sick and needed to throw up. She made it into the restroom where she did once. She only did once and did say her throat hurt some.

The thing is 10 days ago her best friend went home from school after vomiting, and then had strep throat.

So instead of going to a friends house tmw I am going to play my paranoid mom card and take her into the doctor. I am feeling really down. We have been so healthy and I have been so worried about hearing those around us getting sick. Now with on day left until we fly and this happens. So if she does have it, what about the rest of us?????

Sure it could be she just got too worked up and then drank down a bunch of chocolate milk that didn't sit well with her (not the one who is allergic to it.) She has been sleeping for close to 3 hours now so if she did have a virus or flu I think she would be back up.

We have some packing done, but have more to do.

We are 95% packed. Somethings we are still trying to figure out where they should go. Then we have to line up the neighbor girl for mail pick-up, who brings in the garbage cans (garbage day the day we leave.), etc.

Just found out today that one of my DH's co-workers is leaving on Sat for WDW. We may try to catch him the day we leave the boat. I would say that is ironic, however, WDW is a popular place for families. The weirdest was when we went to Whistler, BC last winter and ran into another of DH's co-workers there also. I had to travel across the continent and into another country to meet this family. And we still have not seen the family outside of work since returning.

In 36 hours I will be basking (or is that baking) in the sun at Coronado!! Oh, the drama I have dealt with tonight, my DSis & I are looking forward to no phones or computers. (OK, I am. She is still stressing about her girlfriend that is having parental problems. My DSis is looking forward to the vacation though.)

Well Anna slept all night and woke bright and early today at 6:30 in a good mood and feeling great. She has been eating with no problems and she doesn't have school today. I am still going to call the doctor office when they open to talk to the nurse and get her opinon on this.

So hopefully all will go well. We are mostly packed and looking forward to it. :thumbsup2

That's great to hear about your daughter!

And yes, it is great to only pack for ourselves :thumbsup2

I still have today and tomorrow to work.. ugh. :sad2:

But early Saturday morning, we'll be hitting the road. I think we may go to Kennedy Space Center for the day since I've never been there. We have a 3 hr drive though, so we'll see. DH may just want to relax.

Anyone else going to Grill's saturday night?? We're hoping to catch the Magic sailing away!:goodvibes

So glad to hear Anna is doing well!! I've been very worried about strep throat b/c my co-workers daughter had it last weekend for the second time and her doctor told her strep, mono and the flu was going around!! I thought to myself, o-kay we're all staying home and not coming in contact with anyone until we leave!!:rotfl: Then my DD came home on Tuesday and tells me that one of her friends in her class was complaining of a sore throat! That stroked me out. I said if she is at school tomorrow and has a sore throat again, don't play with her. DD just looked at me like I was crazy, didn't understand at all where I was coming from!! But so far, everything seems good and we are leaving tomorrow for Tallahasse and then Saturday we will be heading to Ron Jon's!! Can't wait to meet everyone in 3 days!!

The nurse said the incubation period for strep is short, 3 to 5 days at the more (sometimes 2). So from the exposures she should be fine. That and the fact that she swears she is fine today, we are good to go.

See you all soon. We will be the family with the tie die Mickey head shirts (one ones in my siggy.) Look for us!

Very depressed :( Just looked up the weather report and the day we leave is 20% chance of rain in Port Canaveral and Monday 80% in Nassau. Can't figure out how to check the weather in Castaway Cay? Everyone pray that it changes and maybe someone can send us some pixie dust!!

My friend just got back from the 4/29 wonder this morning. All last week she was stressing about weather b/c it said rain all the days - and she just called and said the weather was PERFECT the whole time. So don't even worry about it b/c weather here in FL and surrounding areas changes so much! And we'll have fun nonetheless.

Bad news is, she and her husband both came down with HUGE colds the last two days - she sounds awful and cancelled her trip to Disney the next 2 nights. :(

EDIT: What site are you looking at? weather.com has 30% chance of rain Monday in Nassau. So as you can see, no one really knows for sure!

I went to google search and typed in weather in Nassau, Bahamas and clicked on a link, don't really know which one?

Glad to hear the weather was perfect for your friend, but I'm very sorry they got so sick!!

See everyone in 3 days!!

If you check www.castawayclub.com they have the Navigators posted from a 4-day that left April 22, 2007. On Monday instead of going to Nassau they stayed at sea then moved Nassau to Tues and Castaway Cay to Wed. They may do that for us also if the weather is not cooperating.

That was actually for a medical emergency - not sure if they'd change b/c of rain. You never know though! Thank goodness we're half way through today. :yay:
